For those of you who haven't heard, artist Peter Doherty has been very seriously ill in hospital since 23 November. Originally thought to be suffering a heart attack, Peter was diagnosed with a torn aorta and underwent major surgery. After a number of days under sedation he's now awake again but will be in hospital for a while yet.
We're putting together a card for Peter from the droids in the 2000 AD Command Module, but we'd also like to include messages from his fans on the forum.
So if you'd like to send him best wishes or a 'get well soon' message, please leave it on this thread and when we send the card we'll print them off and include them so that Peter can see just how many people are wishing him a speedy recovery.
Cheers,
Molch-R
Hope you feel better soon Peter and get back to creating wonderful art!
The very best of wishes!

All the best for a speedy recovery, Peter - as well as being an amazing artist and a pleasure to chat with, the panel you hosted at NICE con was one of the most entertaining I can remember.
Don't put your aorta on the stage, Mrs Worthington! Get well soon Peter, your Prog and loyal fans need you..
Sending hugs.
Pete.
I always loved your art, Peter, and I'm thrilled to hear you're awake again. Here's wishing you a full and speedy recovery – and also hoping you'll be back to art of some kind before long.
Good look with your recovery.
Its no surprise that your art has graced two of the truly great, emotional Dredd stories, 'Bury My Knee at Wounded Heart' and 'Death of a Legend'. Your subtle palette carries such depth and feeling, perfect for two of my all time favourite Dredd stories.
Best wishes and thanks.
Best wishes Pete - love your art, but annoyed at your aorta - get well soon!

Good news that you're on the road to recovery Pete. Surely you need to get fully back on your feet for the 40th, as you definitely need to host a panel or two and try and sell me that Dredd image that you were trying to, up at Thought Bubble.
See you soon

Peter, you are one of the finest Dredd artist of the last 3 decades but wounding your heart so you can bury your knee is just taking things too far. Wishing you a speedy recovery!

I had the pleasure to chat with you at Lawgiver2015 and bought a sweet coloured sketch of Anderson which is the only comic art allowed to be displayed in the living room.
Thoughts and good wishes are with you.
Peace
Get well soon Doherty!
Best wishes, Carl
Peter -
As an artist you are flawless but for me personally you are a colouring god and my single biggest inspiration. Getting to work with you briefly was one of the highlights of my life. I was devastated to hear of your illness as I spent the majority of Thought Bubble this year failing to pluck up the courage to speak to you.
I hope you recover with phenomenal speed and that reading all of these messages gives you some hint of just how damned important you are to us.
Owen Watts
I hope that you make a full and complete recovery, Peter.
I got to meet you at the last 2 Thought Bubbles, and so got a tonne of stuff signed, and of course, I just had to buy some of your original art. If funds had allowed me, I would have bought more. Just lovely stuff.
Hope to see you again at many more conventions.
Wishing you, and your family, all the very best.
Iain.
Hi Peter, wishing you the most rapid of recoveries. Your 2000AD work has been a joy since the very first page of Justice 1, and we need you back creating more of your uniquely atmospheric storytelling and sympathetic colouring sharpish. All the very best, and get well soon.
Stephen.
Hope you have a very speedy recovery Pete, Met you at thought bubble a few years ago and not only are you a fantastic artist but a great bloke as well.

Lovely - they're nearing the extended goal of £7500. More than happy to chip in.
Nearly £7,700 now. Which is fantastic. Will donate once I can get some funds together.
We need lots more of your wonderful artwork, Peter. Get well soon, mate.

Wishing you a swift and true recovery Peter and hope that you may grace us with your scribblings in the not too distant future, we miss you in the prog, all the best, Si
Wishing you a speedy recovery from the Sydney-Melbourne Conurb! The definitive Dredd artist! :)
Get well soon Peter! On behalf of the Great White North.
Good to see the fundraiser doing so well. No sick pay for Freelancers... I can't imagine the extra stress I woulda had during my 8 week hospital stay n similar length recovery at home if I'd not had sick pay to cover bills.
I'm having to wait till payday to chip in and given the season I doubt I'm alone. Share the link if you can.
Peter just posted on Facebook:
"Just seen everyone's messages and contributions. I've only just gained any internet access, after a long period of post-surgery incapacity. To say I'm more then a little overwhelmed, is a slightly understatement.
THANK YOU!
More later"
Great news!
Brilliant!
Here's hoping you make a swift and full recovery Mr Doherty.
Have a bloody brilliant Christmas.
Merry Christmas and get well soon Pete.
I hope you recover soon Peter. I wish you a merry Christmas and a great healthy new year.
I've only just seen this.
Get well soon, and have a great New Year.
Its good to hear that Pete Doherty seems to be chipper (judging by that comment alone) and lets hope his recovery continues a pace.
