That's the problem with going to the Imperial City...

I'm always getting some NPC  gaurd yelling "HAY! It's YOU! The hero of Kavatch!"

Gets on your tit's sometimes.

I have been making potions.... and selling the odd one or two.

The real money seems to be in staffs....

I've been playing Oblivion for a couple of months now; I'm something like a Level 20 Assassin, have joined four 'guilds' (Thieves, Dark Bro, White Stallion & Virtuous Blood), own three houses (Imperial City, Leyawiin & Anvil), have 50k gold and I still haven't started the main quest to deliver the Amulet of Kings to Jauffre yet so haven't run across any oblivion gates at all.  :D

Gawd don't you just hate over achivers?

I'm on the scamp staff quest....

I got to the alter... Got the wue phase " you no longer feel that you cannot release the staff "

but every time I try to drop it on the alter I get a " you don't have room to drop the item here message"

jackstarr

Are you trying to drag and drop the staff from your inventory onto the altar?

This way of dropping items doesn't often work (leftovers from Morrowind) - instead, hold shift and left-click an item in your inventory to drop it.

The Doctor Alt 8

I EVENTUALLY managed to drop it....

now I am wondering how much wading in lava I can stand.... ( should NOT have got rid of the levitation spells..
grr)

The Doctor Alt 8

I have stumbled on this Nenalata Ayleid Ruin... there are a lot of Liches there... I killed them all once and when I came back to loot the weapons... they re spawned... Interesting. cause if they keep doing than my money troubles might be over.

Same with Cadlew chapel... two necromancers keep coming back ...

Is this indefinite?

jackstarr

Yes, the cells are usually set to respawn every x days (I think it's 3 days for Oblivion but don't quote me on that).

They only respawn if you don't visit them again during that time - each time you visit the cell respawn time is set back to 3 days - so for example if you want somewhere to respawn, stay away from it for 3 in-game days and then visit it again.

If you don't want a place to respawn (for example you've got a quest there or you left items there you want to pick up later) make sure you visit again before that 3-day timer is over, even if you're not yet ready to do that quest or pick up those items, just to extend the timer again.

I have a question...

Does any body know if it is possible to buy a custom made paralyze or sleep spell, sneak up on a couple of reckless idiots, use it on them and they not realise who did it....

I have a gate to close just outside a city that is being made difficult by incompetents...

If you use 'Aggressive' magic against an NPC they will attack you.

If you have a potion of Invisibility you can sneak up on them and use your magic safely, without fear of reprisals.

The Doctor Alt 8

Thanks... that sounds a much better idea than wading in lava....

But I might try quicksave before I do it....

Now who offers the best price on "Varla"  stones?

The Doctor Alt 8

Help!
I have had both speed & willpower damaged.

I went to a temple to clear the curse... And instead of healing it just said repent for your crimes...

What crime?

Did you murder, steal anything, trespass, or even assault a friendly NPC by mistake?

Check your stats menu:

Do you currently have a bounty?  If so, pay it off - find a guard and pay up, or if you can't afford it spend time in (or escape from) jail.

What is your fame/infamy?

Even if you've paid off all bounties, your fame needs to be above your infamy otherwise you'll need to go on a pilgrimage to each of the shrines of the 9 Divines in order to reset your infamy to 0.  (Note: not to Daedric shrines.)

Or you could just live with the gods being angry at you and make/buy a potion/spell of restore speed and restore willpower.

The Doctor Alt 8

well I do have a bounty... but no idea where or how I got it.....

I DEMAND A LAWYER
!

The Doctor Alt 8

Lol... Very good.

And knowing my luck he would change ten times more than the bloody fine...

Apparently there is a cheat code to get rid of the problem... But we all know what will happen if I try...
