Cheers Filippo! Glad to know that copies are starting to appear in the wild.

FQ should be back from the printer tomorrow now (sigh) so will be going in the post shortly afterwards. Its worth nothing that ALL FutureQuake & Something wicked back issues have dropped to £2.50 plus post permanently. I need to clear the space.

Remember all sales over £10 will get a free Bolt-doodle- and I'll do requests if asked. :)

Over on Down The Tubes (http://downthetubes.net/?p=32725#comment-17913), the mighty John Freeman has some positive things to say about the new FQ.

If you don't have a copy of this book, then let John advise you as to how to remedy that.

Please forgive me. This turned into a bit of a ramble. There is a point, I promise:

So, I contributed a Nemesis/Comic Rock Presents... strip to the latest issue of Zarjaz. Think it's safe to say I was pretty excited. Kev O'Neill's art and Nemesis quite literally fried my ten year old brain courtesy of prog 224 back in 1981 and has continued to do so ever since. No other artist that inspired me as much. When I saw the world that O'Neill had envisioned, it transformed my drawing habits from a cute little hobby, fishing for compliments from my folks and friends, to a manic obsession. When I was sixteen, I got a job at Don Bluth's studio in Dublin working on Land Before Time (fulfilling my other great obsession: drawing dinosaurs) on the back of the 2000AD art I had created (no doubt horrendous, but I still wish I had kept them). It's almost thirty years later now, I'm sitting in Los Angeles working for Family Guy and there's no doubt in my mind that opening prog 224 all those years ago was the springboard for all of it.

With all that in mind, writing and drawing a Nemesis strip was a daunting and simultaneously exhilarating experience. Nemesis had never been tackled before in Zarjaz and that was intimidating enough ("DON'T FUCK THIS UP!") but on top of that, rumours had always abounded that Nemesis was off-limits as Pat and Kev were apparently quite protective of everyone's favorite demon alien agent of chaos and freedom fighter. Maybe that's all second-hand bollocks. I don't know. They both said yes when I asked them. Maybe no-one had asked them before.

Anyway, the strip got done (once I'd gotten over the mental hurdle and realization that I'm NOT Kev O'Neill, I can't draw like Kev O'Neill, neither can anyone else, therefore please stop worrying about it and have some fun instead) and if I do say so myself, I'm very proud of it. It's dangerously compressed storytelling. Two pages in, I realized my story was too large for a mere twelve pages but I ended up embracing that and just went fucking mad with it instead. Comics are too dragged out these days anyway. 22 pages of talking heads. Fuck that. My only big regret was elaborate chase sequences and fight scenes I'd imagined taking pages to flesh out became mere panels instead. So be it. Pat and Kev probably could have hammered out the same story in five pages and done it infinitely better, but hey. We do what we can with what we have at hand.

The story I wrote involved a vacuous celebrity, a Termight-ian Kendall Jenner-type becoming infatuated with Nemesis and I'd always wanted a panel revealing a scrapbook containing imagery she'd collected from various sources so she could have something to secretly ogle. Anyway, along the way I also managed to pull in some collaborators from artist friends, most of whom had never, sadly, even heard of Nemesis. (Needless to say, that's all changed now.) Thought it might be fun to share some of the contributions on here as this became a little bit of a project.

Here's the opening page:

And finally, Family Guy director Joseph Lee. Bearing in mind these are all busy people and these images were always going to be pretty small in the strip itself, I beseeched everyone not to spend too much time on them. Then Joseph hands me this. Thanks Joseph. Let me just go home hang myself now.

Well, thankee for the kind words, good sir. However, you should pick up your laptop and start plugging back at it. We need you, Shark! (It IS a great issue though!) Big props to The Dave and The Richmond for pulling it all together and for foolishly and easily capitulating to my prissy the-man-from-LA-demands: A4 and color. Dave even sent me a note with mine telling me this was all my fault! Haha!

And if it makes you feel any better, Shark- the strip's art got the royal thumbs-down from Tharg himself who felt the style doesn't suit the prog's requirements. I kinda suspected that was going to be the case (it's a bit goofy, I'll concede) while also simultaneously hoping that same fact might be the thing to catch his Betelgeusian eye. Nonetheless, we battle on.

I see I've missed a few posts overnight!

Blackmocco, so glad you got chance to share those images at a larger size- do you mind if I post 'em on the Q blog later?

As for the strip- it is one of my fave things we've done in Zarjaz over the ten years we've been in charge. The mix of horror and joy you must have felt as a creator s there on every gruddam page.

Seriously- if any of you out there haven't got a copy of the new Zarjaz, you are a grexnix. We won't be doing an issue like this again for a loong time. All the creators went above and beyond for the cause.

Well, technically he's inside of a citadel which is inside of a giant tree which is far in the background of a single panel of the last page of Zarjaz's previous venture into Comic Rock in Zarjaz 23  :D

I was absolutely blown away by the quality of the latest Zarjaz, particularly Blackmocco's tale and Paul Williams' art in the Dredd story, although naturally I'm most pleased to see the ABC Warriors, considering I may have short circuited Bolt 01 and Megabus' sanity circuitry to get it.

Yep, go for it, Bolt. No problem.

Lobo, sorry. Had no idea. My Zarjaz collection's a bit spotty!

And yeah, I know I'm a bit biased but it's a very strong issue. Bolt's right. Be a shame if people were thinking because it's small press it's not worth the effort. David Broughton's ABC Warriors is worth the cover price alone. Man's a workhorse. His productivity makes me wail and gnash my teeth.

And now the quest for world domination begins in earnest.

As of today, you can pick-up a copy of FutureQuake 04 via Comixology for the paltry sum of 0.69p

Over the course of the next few months I'm planning on getting as much of the FQP back catalogue on there as I can.

FQ04 was first published in 2005 and features early work from many names you might find familiar, and a few that should have been bigger, but weren't.

Hi All, seeing as Thought Bubble is rolling round again, that means that there are new issues inbound for FutureQuake, Dogbreath, Something Wicked AND ZArjaz.

Package Holiday from FQ25 by Andi Ewington & Conor Boyle

So to try and clear some room I'm reminding folks that back issues of FutureQuake & something Wicked are all £2.50 each (a price drop of up to £1.50 per issue in some cases)

http://www.futurequake.co.uk/imagebucket/SW10/SchrodingersHatBlog.jpg[/img]](http://www.futurequake.co.uk/imagebucket/SW10/SchrodingersHatBlog.jpg) (http://[img)

Zarjaz & Dogbreath are such strotnig value that we aren't able to drop their prices.

Head over to The FQP Shop (http://www.futurequake.co.uk/shop.php) and either pick yourself a single issue bargain from the issues available or PM me to get multiple issues with combined postage!

Also, for those who prefer digital comics, FQP have got a few titles out on Comixology (https://www.comixology.co.uk/FutureQuake-Press/comics-publisher/7307-0?ref=c2VhcmNoL2luZGV4L2Rlc2t0b3Avc2xpZGVyTGlzdC9pbXByaW50U2xpZGVy), including the very first issue we did.

Continuing the program of releasing old comics on comixology, we are proud to announce that FutureQuake 05 is about to drop.

FQ05 cover art by Charlie Adlard.

This issue was originally released back in the autumn of 2005, at the Brighton expo (The one Dezz Skinn ran and Brendan McCarthy did the promo art for) and FQP shared a table at that gig with Molch-R, who was himself in the SPress at the time with his 'End is nigh book'...

FQ05 also features work by Al Ewing, Mike Carroll, Eddie Robson, Arthur Wyatt and quite a few folks who used to be found around these parts...

The link to the comixology edition is: FutureQuake 05 (http://bit.ly/2dzwkoS)

Tomorrow sees the launch of the new titles from FQP, so I thought it wise to share the covers early- try to spare some cases of TPO.

First up is the quite simply awesome cover for Zarjaz 27 by Neil Roberts.

And finally for today I give you the cover to Dogbreath 32, by the mighty D'Isreali. I've wanted a D'Isreali cover for many years so I'm still smiling about this one.

All the comics will be in the FQP Shop tomorrow, and will be at Thought Bubble this weekend.

Cheers CF, and it'll be nice to see you again. You in Uniform this year?

Also heard from the astounding John Freeman over at Down the Tubes, who had 'this' (http://downthetubes.net/?p=34911) to say.

Sadly the mighty Megabus can't be at TB this year, as he is still basking in the warm glow of Johns comment.

Hi Dunk, currently we are going to be at:

The Birmingham Comics Festival- Edgbaston (http://www.thecomicfestival.com/) April 29th

The Birmingham Comics Festival- Birmingham University (https://birminghamcomicsfestival.com/) June 24-25.

Thought Bubble 2017 (http://thoughtbubblefestival.com/) September 23-24

I'm currently open for suggestions as to where else to visit this year. TB moving to Sept has 'messed' up my usual schedule of releases for the year.

Still need to order my copy of this latest issue.
Is it me or has the response been smaller to this fine publication this time round?
If something like Zarjaz can't hit the buttons of the local comic reading public here abouts , it doesn't bode well for other small press publications like my Paragon! 😕
Title: Re: The Zarjaz, Dogbreath & FQP comics thread
Post by: Bolt-01 on 12 May, 2017, 01:38:57 PM
You aren't wrong Davey- the reaction to the latest issue is a bit baffling. It is a strong issue with a solid lead strip and a corking cover.

However, you just cannot predict what will catch a Squaxx' attention. Other issues with a similar low sales reaction are 23 (Mark Harrison Anderson cover) and 14 (Devlin Waugh cover by Colin MacNeil) but plenty of other issues are selling out with 24 (Dredd by Mike Collins) being the latest to go.

The time has come for a new Daily strip!

The latest issue of the longest continually published 2000 AD fanzine- Dogbreath- is about to drop. To celebrate that fact we've gotten writer Lee Robson and art bot RoboMonkey147 to provide us with:

The strip will be posted daily over at the 'Daily Zarjaz' Thread-

Well I've always wanted to draw comics. My first published work I believe was in Futurequake. I've had a few in there along with a couple of stories in Dogbreath. Can't thank those guys enough. Futurequake gives aspiring writers and artists a platform to show their work. I can't recommend them enough to anyone wanting a chance to showcase their work. Brilliant comics. I've also had work published in 100% Biodegradable. Again, these guys are awesome for anyone interested in working in comics. British small press is where loads of professionals get the start they need.

Ditto - lovely words and well deserved. It's almost as if the small press ISN'T destroying comics ;)

Massive thanks to Pye Parr for agreeing to do this when I cornered him at the 40th and for all the work he put in. Dogbreath is a work of love for all concerned and that is why it is the longest continually published 2000 AD fanzine. All the rest are mere pretenders.

Cheers DDD, and that is what all good comic fans should do. These comics take a hell of a long time to produce, and the price they are sold at is indicative of the fact that we are not in this game to make money (100 pages for 6.50gbp- average of around 20 strips- that's value) so every copy sold is needed to keep the titles viable.

However- you don't want to hear me whinge-

today I bring you Thrills!

Dan has been recently upgraded to full-droid and we are very grateful to him for sneaking out of his chains in the command module and providing us with this utterly scrotnig cover.

Zarjaz 30 will be on sale from early March.

I've been checking out reviews over night-

First off- The Forbidden Planet Blog (http://forbiddenplanet.blog/2018/new-futurequake-press-month/) where friend of the comic Joe Gordon says some very nice things.

The lads over at ECBT 2000 AD have included a review of Zarjaz #30 in the episode here. (https://2000ad.wordpress.com/2018/03/06/ecbt2000ad-ep369/) (Have to admit I don't know if it is a good review as I just can't get on with listening to podcasts. I've tried- but like radio 4 it just washes over me.)

Over on Down The Tubes (https://downthetubes.net/?p=43226), the mightiest of puns greets readers of the promo material.

Our cousins on the emerald isle have posted about the new issue as well. The Sector 13 blog (https://sectorhouse13.blogspot.co.uk/2018/03/zarjaz-30.html) is where to go!

Another review from the ECBT crew (https://2000ad.wordpress.com/2018/03/21/zarjaz-hits-the-mark-yet-again/)- this time it is a more complete look at the book.

If any other reviews appear- and I see 'em, I'll post links here.

Bit of shame less pimping here, but FutureQuake 22 is now on comiXology (http://bit.ly/2HefVVU) along with loads of other issues- all at rock bottom prices.

I'd much rather folk bought the actual physical book, but for a lot of folk this is now the preferred way of reading.

I described a character as 'having the smug but bewildered expression of someone who's painfully dim but believes he's extremely clever' in that script; consequently, Brian produced a character that looks just like me, even though we've never met and he'd never seen a picture of me...

Bit of cross-posting, but if anyone out there that reads Zarjaz (or any other SP titles of quality) and wants to pick up a copy of the LawgIVer programme we did, then I've got a handful of copies. If you place an order for a comic, and want one- let me know and I'll add it to the envelope.

Fill yer boots Doc, and maybe one day the comiXology balance will reach the point where they actually pay something towards the creators!

It might be worth mentioning, as I get asked fairly often if Zarjaz & Dogbreath will make an appearance on the comiXology, Comichaus or comicsy websites. the answer is no. Rebellion told me they would prefer that not to happen so make sure you get a print copy while you can, squaxx.

The only digital editions are the specials- Dark Judgement 1 & 2 (Link to the download page via the ECBT page) (https://2000ad.wordpress.com/dark-judgement/) by Rich McAuliffe, Conor Boyle and Jim Campbell, STAK! and DROKK!  (both available via comicsy) (http://www.comicsy.co.uk/bolt01/#product_category=-1&order=0-&page=2)

Seeing those I think the next special should be either 'Funt!' or 'Sneck!'

Issue 31 of Zarjaz is brought to you by the song "You Keep Me Hangin' on" for some reason...

Even though I haven't heard it for years, it seems that the Kim Wilde version is all over the place this week.  Gruddam Baader-Meinhof Phenomenon.

My art was produced at A4 with a relatively thick line and high contrast in an attempt to make it more readable at A5. Pages I have produce A3 and with thinner lines and/or hatching I have found disappointing once printed. I do think that I need to tidy up my inking for this approach to work as I'm naturally a scratchy and messy artist. There is also too much detail in some of the frames for the approach I was using. Hopefully it's readable enough but it could do with being cleaner (which my next strip for Dogbreath is)
Title: Re: The Zarjaz, Dogbreath & FQP comics thread

It was certainly readable enough, just some of the detail was lost

Next time I'll either use a thinner line at the same scale or the same line at a larger scale and see what the results are like. I need to tidy up my linking a bit as well.

The next strip I have out for FQP is in Dogbreath and was digitally inked, it has a smoother look but digital has always ended up as a bit of a rabbit hole for me. it starts fine but before long I end up working to a massively wasteful and over elaborate process.

what I assume is a Justice Department cartoon aimed at getting kids to grass people up to Judge Pal.

Judge Fudge and his Pals is indeed an in-universe cartoon show, as mentioned in one line in the middle of a text article in the 1989 Judge Dredd Annual.

I suspect that probably counts as the most obscure character from the canon to ever appear within the pages of Zarjaz.

David- great to hear. The Comichaus app is pretty good in my opinion- the display is clear and the support team have always responded to my wittering requests within minutes. They also pay every quarter regardless of the value of your shares. None of this '$100.00' target malarkey.

I'd be wary of hosting comics that are actually in print, though.

Pete who runs it seems like a dude and they're always very attentive when responding to questions.

I put all the Hallowscreams on Comichaus but they're no getting much love. I've 11 titles on there in total but not had more than 50 views for them all. Got a teeny-tiny payment last month but would love to know if anyone's actually made any 'serious' cash out of putting their products on.

Agree with your print comment Dave. I've seen some folk add their brand new comics straight to the app but that just seems like a sure-fire way to cannibalize print sales.

Ghastly- Think it is a great resource for older works and I agree with you on the number of views.

I'm not going to give numbers away but I'd be a lot happier if they were higher.

I see this as a companion to Comicsy- whereas if a reader wants to take a punt and see if they like a book- use Comichaus as you can consume all you like there for a single price, but if you want a top quality pdf of the book that you can take with you and read in whatever way you like- the comicsy downloads are perfect for that.

I plan on keeping the Comichaus a couple of issues behind.

And yeah, loads of respect for Pete for listening and actually putting things into play that I've asked for.

Zarjaz & Dogbreath need YOU!

Hey there Squaxx- for years we at FQP have been bringing you the very finest small press talent we can find in the pages of Zarjaz & Dogbreath, but of late we've had fewer and fewer scripts to commission.

If this carries on then the next issues of both books could be the last.

So if you feel like you have what it takes to tell a Judge Dredd story, or want to chronicle a case for a Strontium Dog then drop us a line at either strontiumdogbreath.gmail.com or zarjazcomic@gmail.com

Zarjaz and Dogbreath are small press comics devoted to the worlds of 2000AD - both titles are not-for profit and exist purely due to the grace of TMO.

Stories should ideally be self contained and run 4 - 6 pages.

Hi all. An issue has been identified with the printing on the new Zarjaz (34) that means one of the strips is printed at the wrong size.

Thankfully none of the orders received had been processed so this is going to affect only contributor copies and shop copies.

If you have one of the defective issues please get in touch with me here and I'll get back to you to sort out sending you a replacement copy.

The revised file is with the printer and new copies will be sent out as soon as the stock arrives.

Orders from the FQP shop after #368 (30th June) are the ones to be delayed. If you have any questions about this, please get in touch via PM.

This is cross-posted from the FQP blog.

And the new issues have been collected. All these copies look first rate so the postal collation will begin in the morning.

Thanks for all the messages of support.

SP comics don't make money so this has been a very costly learning experience.

I plan on having them for Thought  Bubble, but if they go sooner, then they are gone for good, so please - don't miss out.

Thought some folks here might not be aware that a few years ago we had a small range of Zarjaz postcards printed. These were limited to only 100 of each and strangely enough we still have some.

Postcards etc at FQP! (https://www.futurequake.co.uk/other-cool-stuff/)

They feature Slaine by Dave Kendall (Zarjaz 07), Rogue Trooper by Pj Holden and Steven Denton (Zarjaz 08), The ABC Warriors by Clint Langley (Zarjaz 11), Dredd by Alex Ronald (Zarjaz 12) and finally Robo-Hunter by Nigel Dobbyn (Zarjaz 17)

Each card sells for a single earth pound or you can get all five for four earth pounds.

Next time you are in line to get your copy of Zarjaz or Dogbreath, pick yourself up a set.

In the past it has taken a fair few weeks to get this notification, but the fine folk at comiXology have notified me that FutureQuake 2020 is now available!

The direct link to the issues is:- Right here for your ease and convenience! (http://bit.ly/38oZin9)

And the reduced price should help you digital readers to keep up. Remember that the best way to experience FutureQuake is to read a printed copy – these books are specially designed to enhance your experience.

Print copies have been leaving FQP all week (seriously, all I've done for the last two weeks is pack envelopes) but you can get your copy from The FQP webshop! (https://www.futurequake.co.uk/futurequake/)

Cheers, Sinx - I thought I'd done this.

And thanks to folk here for support over the last few weeks. We've had a nice bump of sales, presumably due to the upcoming conventions being cancelled, but small press titles don't sell massive numbers, and these issues are no exception.

Support your small press, 'cause when it's gone - it's gone.

Hi All, I've had a couple of emails during lockdown from Squaxx wanting to 'fill gaps' for Zarjaz or Dogbreath. I've had to politely let folk down as in all honesty I just can't store the numbers of comics it would require to keep a complete back issue selection in place.

BUT!

If you 'could' pick-up any back-issues from the runs of the galaxies greatest fanzines - what would you want? Something recent that has just dropped off the site or maybe something from well back in the day. If it was published by us here, then I can make it happen if demand warrants it.

Drop me a line, with 'back issues' in the header somewhere and if any of the issues get anywhere near making it worth me getting some more printed (around 20 is the minimum) then I'll make it happen.

PM's welcome.

Hey Squaxx - special heads-up!

FQP are pleased to announce that from today, June 3rd to August 31st they are open to new scripts.

FQP titles FutureQuake and Something Wicked are two premiere level titles with a focus on new talent & developing talent and a proven track record in help new creatives hone their skills. Scripts are being welcomed for both titles- script length of ideally 4-6 pages with a 'twist' in the tail.

The 2000 AD fanzines Dogbreath & Zarjaz are still open to scripts so there is room for writers of all levels to contribute.

Note that all scripts will be read in the order received and only short stories are being sought. FQP do not publish serials or complete graphic novels.

If accepted, writers will be informed of the next steps towards getting the script commissioned and turned into a comic strip.

Currently both titles can accommodate around 40 strips a year, so it may be that scripts have a significant delay between acceptance and commission. If that is an issue to you, keep in touch with editorial to see where you are in the lists.

Send all script submissions to futurequakepress@googlemail.com and good luck.

Have you had a significant upsurge in submissions during lockdown?

Oh, and 40 strips a year seems pretty impressive to me.

Hi Robin - as it happens no, mainly due to FutureQuake & Something Wicked being closed to scripts.

What we 'have' had is a spike in artists delivering work. The extra time at home that some folk have had has allowed some artists to deliver work early. Zarjaz especially has benefitted from that situation.

Thanks

Available very soon - Zarjaz 37 features a first for Zarjaz - a strip featuring Lulu Romanov, so what finer choice could we ask for but to have Simon Fraser provide a stunning cover featuring the lady herself.

Hey Squaxx, Dogbreath is 'the' longest running 2000 AD based fanzine. We are proud to present Dogbreath 38 to the world. This is the latest collection of overheard tales and rumours taken from the Kennel, the bar of the Doghouse. Dr Bob and Butch the bar tender work tirelessly to spread these scurrilous rumours and half truths.

Remember that Dogbreath, like Zarjaz, does not have a digital release. If you want to read this book then you need to buy a copy. Dogbreath costs the same this issue as it did 15 years ago, the reason for this is simple. I work with a local printer and she charged me the same for this issue, as she did for the first one she printed. All the contributors work for free and the time it takes us here at FQP to put the issue together is also not paid for. We are here because of our love for the characters and the art form. If you want to ensure that Dogbreath or any book out there continues - buy a copy.

You are more than welcome. I've made several trips to the post office this weekend and I'm about to start the lists for the next run!

If anyone wants to get an order in today, I'll be off to the post office next on monday lunchtime.

I've also had the go-ahead for a comp I've wanted to run for a while. Watch this space in the next few days for the chance to win something pretty swish!

We are very pleased to announce that we have a copy of the first issue of BEST OF 2000 AD - the Retailer Exclusive edition.

How do you win this copy of one of the most sought after exclusives? Simple - all you need is a copy of either Zarjaz 38 or Dogbreath 38.

To enter the competition all you need to do is identify the 38th piece of text in a strip in either issue.

Captions or spoken word - SFX do NOT count.

Note - just in case I'm not 100% clear, count each piece of text --

If a balloon is joined to present multiple pieces of text, count each one separately. Therefore there are 6 pieces of text in the example above.

Then simply email in to futurequakepress@gmail.com with the subject header of 'BO2K Competition entry' and write either the line of dialogue or caption that is the 38th in that issue.

The competition is open till midnight November 30th, so as long as your email has a timestamp within that window you are good to enter.

Finally - please note that this is not an official Rebellion competition, it is solely the responsibility of team FQP and my decision is final. Good luck all of you.

Thanks to all the artists and creators of Dogbreath and FQ for making a miserable November more endurable. My Painter software is on the blink, and so misery is my only companion to misquote Werner Herzog.

You are all welcome.

Due to the current situation I'm working from home (like so many others) which means I can visit the post office most days. If any squaxx out there needs a little 'pick-me-up' then Zarjaz, Dogbreath or any of the fine FQP titles will keep the thrill suckers at bay between progs.

Oh, and if you like what Filippo is doing in Dogbreath, check the '77 -- Filiippo is one of the main letterers over there and even drew a strip in issue 3. Top work, fella.

Hey Squaxx - for those of you out there waiting for this news, the digital edition of FutureQuake 2020 Winter is now on comiXology!

Obligatory link! (https://bit.ly/39AfdDr)

I feel it worth pointing out that digital sales are intended to eventually provide a thank-you payment to each and every contributor. Sales are logged and shares calculated each time we get a payment so by buying your book through comiXology you are going to be directly giving back to contributors.

FQP is proudly not for profit - we are here to support new creators at the start of their journey.

Hey Squaxx,

Over at comiXology they are having an end of year sale for small press titles and this year, for the first time, FQP are taking part.

The direct link to the comiXology publisher page for FQP is here. (https://www.comixology.co.uk/FutureQuake-Press/comics-publisher/7307-0?ref=c2VyaWVzL3ZpZXcvZGVza3RvcC9wdWJsaXNoZXJJbmZv)

Almost all of the books are now available for as little as 0.39p (GBP) which is an absolute steal (and possibly a little insulting to the creators involved) and if it helps anyone out there who is undecided about trying an FQP book - hopefully this will make it easier.

All the FQP titles available are part of the sale, and all apart from the very latest issue.

I'm a bit behind on my reading, but just enjoyed Zarjaz #34, with this jaw-droppingly inventive Robo-Hunter cover:

Inside, you'll find:

Sam Slade, Robo-Hunter in 'Guy, Robot' - the classic Sam, Stogie, Hoagy line-up in a cross between a Matryoshka doll, Inception and The Numskulls.

Judge Dredd - Double or Nothing - obsessive gambling and trainspotting blend together to provide one of those "what will the citizens think of next" tales.

Giant - Feat of Clay [Harlem Heroes] - an origin story that manages to provide a snapshot of life in the nascent Mega-City alongside a poignant tale of the need to escape a difficult upbringing. Parts 1 & 2 promise to be continued.

Night Zero: Shot Zero - Tanner the Taxi driver somehow ends up on the pull in a rather inappropriate setting. He must be a terror at funerals.

Judge Dredd: Iron Chief - a cross between Our Man in Hondo and Mechanismo, as some perps manage to steal something with more attitude than they were bargaining for.

Bix Barton: Rum's the Word - it all goes a bit meta as the cast start commenting on the readership and noting a certain pattern. Who could be behind this but a fiendishly underappreciated writer?

Strontium Dog: The Baroo Affair - Johnny and Wulf land on a partial solution to their bounty-hunting problem.

Cheers Funt. Glad you liked the book.

Neil is always great value in covers, wish he would get more sequential work.

Seeing as reviews are appearing (Thanks Al) I'd best get the cover out there.

Zarjaz 39 goes on sale Sunday and boasts a cover by the one and only Dave Taylor, highlighting the very first appearance in Zarjaz for Halo Jones!
