I am pleased to announce I will be creating a Lawless exclusive clay model, and raffling it at the event. All proceeds will be in aid of Save the Children. More on the model as it is created, although it will fit with the theme of the event - watch this space!

In the meantime, I am also raffling three existing models in the run up to the event, via the JustGiving page below (also for Save the Children). The draw will take place at Lawless, alongside the draw for the exclusive model.

It's £2 per raffle ticket. I'm hoping to reach £300 ahead of Lawless.

Please give generously, and good luck in the raffle!

Blimey, 40 raffle tickets bought within the first three hours! Thanks folks!

£77 off of the target already, not bad for one day, and two months until Lawless!

I'm just wondering what the Lawless-themed model will be.  Lawson, or Kill-a-Man-Jaro are my guesses.

All will be revealed, but there's a clue in the picture above.

excellent work in all respects. Well done, Mr Munkeh!

Thanks Eamonn - your good work was my inspiration for this.

Ooh yes - the theme is celebrating the life and works of King Carlos, so plenty of material for guesswork there!

136 tickets sold!

Thank you to everyone who has bought one so far. It means so much to me that you've contributed to this charity.

Remember, you don't have to attend Lawless to receive a model if you win - I'll post it to you! (Especially now Lawless tickets have sold out :D)

Here's a bit more on why I've chosen Save the Children as a charity.

You've probably seen headlines like this:

4.5 million children in the UK living in poverty
https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/society/2018/sep/16/new-study-finds-45-million-uk-children-living-in-poverty

80,000 more children in Scotland to be pushed into poverty under 'austerity'.
https://www.scotsman.com/news/politics/austerity-will-push-a-further-80-000-scots-children-into-poverty-warns-report-1-4891637

Schools now considered the fourth emergency service for children.
https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2019/mar/16/hungry-unwashed-children-fill-our-schools

This is very personal to me. I grew up in impoverished circumstances. I know what it is like to go to school having not eaten for days, unwashed, in badly fitting clothes, often falling apart despite being stitched back together over and over.

That was forty years ago. Up until about ten years ago, the number of children in poverty in the UK was dropping. Then the Conservatives came to power and destroyed any progress with 'austerity'. Now, currently, there are MORE children in the country in a WORSE position than I was, forty years later. How is that possible in the 6th richest nation in the world?

I've been following this for years, and have felt horrified at the situation, recalling how it felt for me as a child. I have also felt powerless. The situation feels like it is killing my soul, but by bit. Lobbying my MP has changed little. Neither has signing petitions.

Despite all public outcry, austerity isn't going anywhere. The people in power DO NOT GIVE A SHIT.

So this is a small attempt to raise awareness and a bit of positivity - give away a bit of me, the things I have created, the things worth more to me than anything I own as they were borne of my hard work and my time, in an attempt to just DO something - make SOME difference, no matter how slight.

It's an awful fact we have to lean on charities to help those who can't help themselves, but this is the situation, and I am sick and tired of feeling powerless in the face of it. Aren't you?

So why Save the Children? Well, they're not just about helping kids in far away countries. They do a lot of work at ground level for kids in the UK.

Here are some of the awesome things they do, if you're interested:

https://www.savethechildren.org.uk/what-we-do/uk-work

The work they do is fantastic, and it's an immediate way to give a child a chance to grow into the best possible adult they can be.

So even if you have no interest in any of my models, please contribute in some way. Help combat the sense of powerlessness, step up for those who can't for themselves, and make a difference to a child on our own doorstep.

£300 target hit!!!

Thanks so much everyone! I very much appreciate all of your contributions. This charity means a great deal to me.

This should also be a fun raffle - 150 tickets!

A special mention to Michael Carroll who went for 8 raffle tickets, and pushed it to the £300 target - thanks Michael!

There's still over a month to go before the draw though. If you would like some raffle tickets for the models, or just want to contribute, please follow this link:

It has just been reported the number of children in absolute poverty in the UK has risen to a staggering figure of 3.7 million.

The work of charities like Save the Children is more important than ever.

If you are a 2000AD or Judge Dredd fan you can support their work by buying a raffle ticket or just contributing here:
