"Monstrosities and flesh-twisted wierdos" is good.

That's Hickleton on HEAVY METAL DREDD - check out Joe's neck.

More Hickleton, more HMD - show those soft poncy artists a thing or two.

Of course the "poor bastards" should be made an example of - would you honestly expect to get away with hitting your Prime Minister with missiles?

However, the offence they have been charged with does not carry a jail sentence but a maximum fine of ?1000.

The men are members of the campaign group "Fathers 4 Justice", who want improved access to children for separated fathers.

Because they want this, they decided throwing coloured flour at Tony Blair and sparking a major security incident would be good publicity for them and their cause.

Unfortunately for them, they and their cause will be brushed swiftly aside in favour of further anti-terrorism moves and discussion over the security overhaul in the house of commons.

Grand - Day has been attacked for it's lunatic feel in comparison with Dawn, what with all the shouting and quirky experiments from Doctor Frankenstein.

But it's the business - more desperate characters fighting for survival, brilliant gore from Savini and a wonderful ending.

The story was not that bad at all - art OK too.

There have been much worse stories of late.

THE PIT is the best Judge Dredd story ever written.

The older classics like Apocalypse War, The Judge Child etc. may be more revered by the long-time readers as stories of their time, but THE PIT is a far more mature, gritty and involving piece of work which I enjoyed immensely and much more than the older stuff.

Buy the graphic novel!

"Birth" should have no place in the title of a Star Wars film

"Why?"

'Birth' clearly does have a place in Star Wars as 2 little bundles of Jedi joy are gonna have to pop out sometime in Ep3

Because "Birth of the Empire" sounds strained... and painful.

Hard to elaborate, but that word simply does not sound right in the title of a Star Wars movie - as "Midwife" would not. The births of Luke & Leia are not part of the rise of the Empire.

"A New Hope" was fortunately always secondary to "Star Wars" for Episode IV, but "The Empire Strikes Back", "Return of the Jedi" and "Attack of the Clones" were simply perfect titles.

"The Phantom Menace" seems less contrived as time goes by.

I had no problem with the Ewoks in 1983, and still don't now - though they are obviously the easiest targets for scorn from adult fans, being teddy bears and all.

The scene with 3PO telling his adventures in the village is top!

Can't wait for it - the derision surrounding Episodes I & II is hysterically over the top.

I put it down to the timelapse between Jedi and Menace - 16 years older and wiser, fans of the originals live in a more cynical world now.

Don't like "Birth of the Empire" though - "Birth" should have no place in the title of a Star Wars film.

It's OK to expect service and quality for your money.

And it's fine to complain when you feel you don't get it.

But since you've put this up here for consumption... I'd say a little too harsh choice of words in staff-critisism and suggesting mental retardation.

Is the title of Galaxy's Greatest under pressure?

The difference is these stories were sensationalised by the press, but were based on official reports (how true the reports themselves were is known only to their authors and what may transpire at a later date). One can hardly blaime the tabloids for that.

Here, a newspaper has decided to craft a lie (or purchase a crafted lie) to cash in on current public outrage.

It is one thing to report on dubious - but nevertheless official - threats to life, and another to brandish pretend pictures and create scandal and anger from them.

But photographic evidence does not lie - it can be reported upon from a biased point of view, but so long as the picture is honest one can still make up one's own mind from the facts.

You say you don't think Piers Morgan misled the public... by presenting us photos as actual fact when they were nothing of the sort?

Just because the fake pictures were topical about what some US troops have been up to, does not mean they can be justified.

Lies on this grand scale must be punished to discourage other newspaper editors from manipulating public opinion in the future.
