Forgot to post in haste, but went to see The Wonderstuff on Saturday roll back the years on the 30th anniversary tour at Rock City (a first for me - great venue)

They were the best I've seen them in all those years, absolutely brilliant gig & the new album is damn fine too, just a shame we got done £30 for driving down a bus lane in Nottingham trying to get lost...

Montreux Jazz festival line-up announced yesterday. Snapped up tickets for emphatically jazz-free double-bills on consecutive evenings. Sigur Ros and Mogwai on the Tuesday then PJ Harvey and Patti Smith on Wednesday.

Blimey!
We never really die.

Blimey indeed - that's a great double bill. Never seen PJ Harvey, but I saw Patti Smith a couple of years ago and she was fanatastic

Blimey indeed. PJ is one of my favourite live arts... well arts full stop. Quite brilliant and the thought of seeing her with Patti Smith is thrilling. Have fun with that, though I suspect there's no need to even say that!

Only managed four gigs last year and this year......nothing so far.
But I now have tickets for Fields Of The Nephilim at London Forum on June 20th.  :D
Dumb all over, a little ugly on the side.

Ooh. Trying to work out if I can make a non-weekend gig... still pissed off that the ceiling falling in at Shepherd's Bush Empire last year made 2015 the first year without a Neph gig since 2008...

Cheers

I think I missed both the Iron Maiden and Black Sabbath shows. Yet, maybe one of the Slough Feg show in the U.K..

YES tonight... the girlfriends choice, not mine you understand. Saying that I did get into them round 90125 - but not roundabout...

Will be taking a good book & pillow... I remember a certain Micky Swift falling asleep at one of their gigs!

It's all right, that's in every contract.
That's what they call a sanity clause.

Not so much upcoming as spent last night nodding sagely to...
Television, Glasgow.
Forgot how much I liked 'em.

Seeing Filter this month, who I love. They've been making some rumblings that suggest it'll be the last tour for a few years (and they don't make it to the UK very often at the best of times) so hoping for a belter.

Well saw Neil Young last night in Leeds and it was incredible. It was an almost perfectly constructed set, even if I was being fussy some of the individual songs weren't exactly what I'd have picked. It built from stone cold acoustic classics slowly and and steadily into full on wig out rocking and by the end it was Weld!

Jez though the fella's 70 its time he settled down a little, he still completely rocks. Force of nature that fella!

PiL at the Falkirk warehouse last night :)

Fresh after seeing her play with Puscifer (which was fantastic and strange and brilliant), just twigged that Carina Round is doing a solo UK tour so will be seeing her in Glasgow. Should be great, Tuts so a nice small venue.
