As predicted upthread, Dominion contains the title story, Memories are Made of This and Torture Garden. No Deadworld stuff, but still lots of lovely Dark Judge horror.

The 2000ad Ultimate Collection wikipedia page has this edition featuring only the title story and they are usually quite accurate, so I just wondered whether the other two stories made it in? (That's not to doubt you in any way, Abelardsnazz!) Also, I don't remember 'Memories are Made of This' - could someone refresh my own memory?

Wikipedia is incorrect, the other two stories are most definitely in there, it would be a slim volume if they weren't.

Memories Are Made of This, as someone has said over on the Barney thread, is a sort of bridging story between the Deadworld series and the Dark Judges' exploits on Dominion.

Sounds great Colin, should cause plenty of discussion a la the Dredd epic tourney!

One question - will it include a round for classic McMahon vs. modern McMahon? I'm a big fan of Howler myself....

Thanks again Colin for running this, what tremendous fun. Not surprised by the winner, fully deserving of its place as it's left such a huge legacy in the Dredd canon.

Well here we are. Many thanks to Colin for running this thing, it's been a lot of fun and has prompted many fascinating comments and placings. So which Carlos epic is it to be? For so many memorable, quotable, influential, shocking and iconic moments, it has to be The Apocalypse War.

Judge Child has a trio of classic Dredd artists, the Angel Gang, Texas City - but for me outstanding storytelling, pulling lots of threads together and a masterclass in making a modern Dredd epic means I'm voting with my head this time for Tour of Duty.

Dominion is brilliant, Nick Percival's art is something else and this and the Deadworld series put the DJs firmly back in the horror camp where they belong.

Pleased to see Oz climbing the rankings but disappointed for The Dead Man.

America is arguably the best Dredd story of them all,  and the fact that it still manages to score.No. 6 on a list of Epics (which it  definitely isn't) is testament to that. Balance is restored, although next time round I want Sunday Night Fever, Graveyard Shift and (why not) Bury My Knee included in the pool, just to see how high they can get as Non-epics in an Epics smackdown.

This brings me on to the next questions - how are the remaining Dredd stories broken down into categories? How is a medium-length story such as Graveyard Shift or Destiny's Angels defined?
There are clearly loads of one-offs, but should recurring characters (PJ Maybe, Oola Blint, Slick Dickens) have their own category?

Next three covers are up: Dominion, Savage and Jaegir:

As for previous Megazine stuff, Beyond our Kenny was in the Cam Kennedy Dredd volume, but I can't think of any others off the top of my head.

It's heart versus head here for me - going to go with my heart and vote for Necropolis.

Ian Gibson - Halo Jones Book 3. On this Gibson's work seems to have much more depth than on Robo-Hunter and Dredd - not that there's anything wrong with his work on those but the quality of his work on HJ3 is particularly memorable for me.

Brett Ewins - I really like his early work on Rogue Trooper - The Vid-Vultures, Major Magnam etc.

Bryan Talbot - Nemesis Book 4 - perfect style for the Gothic Empire.

Mention of Simon Bisley's work on The Black Hole made me think of SMS - his only work for Tooth was the other half of that story and for my money is just as good - the detail is simply stunning.

John Ridgway - The Dead Man.

D'Israeli - Scarlet Traces.

Steve Dillon - his City of the Damned episodes are particularly memorable.
