Super Mario

DoC Fallout was really good. But Bender, Paris and MC2 all seemed to be setting things up that have never really paid off.

But those post DoC when taken together sell the post disaster vibe a lot better than I remember them doing at the time.

TordelBack

This is true. There were a lot of stories dealing with the short-medium term aftermath of DoC, more I suspect than any previous epic, even Apocalypse War. Despite this, I feel very few have really addressed what it might mean to a city to lose such a massive majority of its inhabitants in a matter of days.

MC-2 is the most interesting take since Supersurf 13, and I really want(ed) to see Bender develop further: great character.  Paris I can take or leave.

Lawless is brilliant, great characters and story, with incredibly detailed art from Phil Winslade. A cracking volume to round off the collection with.

War on the streets will collect the following:

[spoiler]Block War

The Perp Runners
The Umpty Baggers
The Blitz Agencies
The Psycos
The Numbers Racket
The Stookie Glanders
Mob Wars
The Executioner
The Graveyard Shift

I dont recognise all of them. But sounds promising! Love Graveyard shift.

That, right there, is a rock solid slab of premium Dredd.

Me too, under separate cover, as they forgot to include it with my UC volumes. Pretty quick though. Only complained on Monday. A rare thumbs up for Hachette.

Has the first Uncle Ump story appeared anywhere in the collection?

My only complaint recently has been that there will be no more Lawless in this collection.  I thoroughly enjoyed that, it was completely and totally different.  The artwork initially seemed a little 'busy', but once you got used to it, it was gorgeous and highly detailed.

The amount of work that went into it was really something.  Often in my posts I'll comment on the artwork and it might be a secondary thing to some people but good artwork to me really is one of the primary things that makes a story.  It's why I enjoy old stories like Trigan Empire or the original Dan Dare.
When the truth offends, we lie and lie until we can no longer remember it is even there, but it is still there. Every lie we tell incurs a debt to the truth. Sooner or later, that debt is paid. That is how an RBMK reactor core explodes. Lies. - Valery Legasov

Not so far, unless it's in Crazy Town - any subscribers care to enlighten?
