News / Re: 2000AD Taxi

I don't get why the only chose two characters, I'm sure they had room for more (Lobster Random, Cab Inc.'s Jenny-Demon, or even Chopper)

Also as has been said it's a bit strange to start touting Durham Red just as her series seems to have drawn to a definitive close. Mabey her Graphic Novels are popular with the whips and chain brigade (nothing wrong with that).

It seems to me that 2k would be better served advertising it's current range of stories at the time they come out, why weren't there Levitahan previews in Empire Magazine, why not a Devlin Waugh pin-up in the Gay timesI might be taking the piss ther a little) or Chopper in skate magazines.

It is nigh on impossible get a casual reader to buy into the 2000ad brand as a whole but if you could hook them in with one story that floats their boat they could be in for the long haul.

Also back to the taxi while i like the over-all design I'm not sure if the placement of the text makes the remotest bit of sense.

Anyone know if this will be the directors cut, I saw a vewsion on the Sci-Fi channel a while ago that seemed to have a few extra scenes and even had the deleted scenes on before the credits.

It's ace so far, it shouldn't work, but it does.

The only detaractions I feel like making are that it needs some cleaning up on the narritive front. It might be a bit too busy for it's own good but that's it appeal to in crazy, compeling and offensive(though not in the sence a lot of people find it offensive) the makings of a thrash masterpiece.

But onthe other hand this is Steve Moore so I may very soon find myself purchasing a hat some gravy and very good steak-knife.

Help! / Re: How to defeat Judge Fear in Dv...
02 December, 2003, 08:46:30 PM
Maybe, matbe not.

One complaint is that you don't really get to Duke it out with the dark Judges, apart from Fear whic once you've worked it out is a bit wham bam thank you mam.

To defeat Mortis all you have to do is flip a switch and at least try to rescue some hostages. Fire, you run around turning on sprinklers. The first Judge Death, what was that, I rember running about a bit and then triggering a cut scene.

Even the final showdown seemed to boil down to flipping a few switches.

Similar to how I did it keep running in circles. If you're using the shotgun only take one shot, if you miss, back off and wait until you're ready to fire again. Similarly if you're hit, run away and wait for your little armour thingy to charge up. If you do this it matters little what you're health is (I did it with about half an inch of health left). Rmember to jump Fear's traps and any other small obsticals. Oh yeah, ignore the vampires, aslong as you keep moving your relitively safe.

I did have a good rumage through it most of the art would seem amatuerish on a webcomic. Apart from maybe one guy who draws in a kind of cartoony current marvel style with some crisp colouring.

One thing a can say, even though I didn't read the -hhhrrrgghhh!- plot and dialog, there does seem to be a lot of pages with not a single tit on them so maybe there's a certain dedication to story telling as opposed to shameless exploitation.

And I'm pretty sure that Flint pic posted up thread is the cover. Doesn't he post here from time to time?

News / In like Flint?
14 November, 2003, 12:24:45 AM
So I'm in my local newsagent and I saw a new title next to 2000ad called Strip! An adult comic filled with naked ladies. It had some bad art, with the exception of the cover drawn if I'm not mistaken by 2K's own Henry Flint. Am I mistaken?

Speaking of scrutiny I'm surprised that no one's mentioned the ABC Warriors preview on the input page. Tasty. I recon if they had Flint adding grey tones to Carlos Esquerra's art we'd all be happier bunnies.

One thing though on the second last page of DMW is that Gem playing the part of the sexy lady zombie with the scissors in her head.
