Its funny that Patrick Goddard and Brendan McCarthy are so close together. Mr McCarthy, though he's been in the Prog since the start(ish) has always felt like a rare treat. Patrick Goddard being new(ish) but seems prolific and I was surprised (which in itself is no surprise) that he was so low and I'd have certainly thought he'd done significantly more than Mr McCarthy.

To be fair, my counting system does favour artists who've done a lot of covers, even if their strip count isn't huge. But my favourite part of this exercise is the surprises about who has done far more than you realise. Many months down the line, we'll start seeing people who've actually contributed fairly little, but had a huge impact nonetheless.

Bloody brilliant stuff! Your tend to forget just HOW MUCH Moore has written, and tend to break it down to benchmark titles like Halo Jones, Watchmen and Lost Girls. I completely forgot he had a run on Supreme and just how many Future Shocks he penned.

Well damnit - There I was just trying to get caught up on my favourite blog which I've got woefully behind on and realising I know next to nowt about one of my favourite artists, covered there in - I find I've  now got extra homework to do. Thanks for the linkie to that Down The Tube interview... when will I ever get caught up.

Oh and Nemesis Book II is superb. Sure its somewhat in the shadow of what surrounds it BUT taken on its own value its quite wonderful art and I reckon if he hadn't been sandwiched between two slices of yummy O'Neill bread and like say Brian Talbot, or any of the other later artists had there his own defined period of Da Warlock his work there would be very VERY fondly remembered, much more so than it is now I suspect. As I've said before, this spiders - so very, very hairy!

Right I'm off to do my homework.
