A few 2000AD trade questions

Hello,

I'm sure these have been answered elsewhere ad nauseum, so apologies in advance.

1) Regarding the Judge Dredd Case files: Do these collect just Dredd stories, or related (Anderson, Preacher Man et. al) stories as well? If not, is there a similar trade program for the Anderson stories that collects everything?

2) Are the case files all in the original format (i.e. black and white if that's how they were first printed, colour if not?)? Or is it all in black and white?

3) I've noticed that the cover and spine design seems to change on the Case Files at some point...Is this just a matter of early printings vs. late printings? Or UK vs. US? Or did it just change?

4) What exactly are the Dredd Restricted Files trades?

5) This one is a Shakara question. I've got a trade called Shakara: The Avenger which collects the progs up to and including 1557-1573. I know there is a new trade coming out in 2012 called Shakara: The Destroyer. Is this the same book but with the newer material, or is just the new material only?

1) Just the Dredd stories. The Anderson stories are being collected in the Psi-Files.

2) Vol 1-11 are all b&w, from that point on they switch to original format.

3) Vol 1-10 cycle through different colours for the spine. From Vol 11 they go back to the beginning of the colour cycle, with 'Judge Dredd' in a different font. Who knows what will happen with Vol 21? There are US editions of the first 4 or 5 volumes. I would guess they have different spins, but I can't confirm this.

4) Restricted Files contain the Dredd strips from the Sci-Fi Specials, Annuals etc.

5) I think it's just new stuff, but can't remember where I read that!

Pretty sure that The Destroyer collects series 4 and 5 - the penultimate and final series - of Shakara.

The Case Files collect ONLY the Judge Dredd stories that were published in 2000ad and the Megazine. They do NOT include stories from annuals/specials, alternate versions like the movie adaptation, Heavy Metal Dredd, Lawman of the Future or DC Dredd, spin offs like Anderson, America or Kenny Who?, or the crossovers (vs Batman/Lobo/Predator/Aliens).

There are 18 volumes of Dredd Case Files available, they all follow a similar cover dress to this:



While the US reprints of Case Files, of which there are currently the first four volumes, look different, like this:



As mentioned above, the Judge Anderson Psi Files collect all her solo stories. Volume one is available now which features all the black and white Anderson stories, volume two, which collects most of the colour strips is out next month.

The Restricted Files collect Dredd rarities, primarily the annual and specials strips. There are currently three volumes available.

Part of my confusion with the Dredds is that my store has some of the US prints, and some of the UKs. I'd obviously like to have a cohesive collection.
