Scarlet Traces:
I grok Martian, or at least Doopspeak:
It's all nonsense and not plot points I'm afraid.
I don't know if this is from Ian, Matt or Annie but it does read like some strange martian poetry.
Got a hole in your panty
Got a big behind like Frankenstein
Going beep beep beep
Down Sesame street
In your ear with a can of beer
Up your butt with a coconut
You got big red eyes like cherry pies
You blow up like a toad and then explode
Daphne & Celeste?!?  Tomorrow morning can't come soon enough.

Thanks, well spotted. They are indeed the lyrics for Ooh stick you.

Only just bought the prog, haven't even opened it yet, but what a cover. What a cover!

staticgirl

Also popping in to celebrate the cover. It's also a case where the byline and the image work perfectly together. Props to all concerned.

Smith

Sons of Booth is an interesting one...Terrible acronym btw.
TBH,I'm really feed up with everything else.

Had to google that and still none the wiser....
DDT did a job on me

Cover: As I implied upthread, it's an exquisitely rendered work of utter beauty

Dredd: Intriguing. Plenty of satirical focus of course, I'm sure there'll be a great story to go with it. There seem to be some references I'm missing - from Sons of Anarchy? 'Sprayy'?

Defoe: Sets up what I presume will be the plot for this arc. What's 'Vizard'? Mills-speak for 'wizard'?

Brink: Glorious. I think this is a comics version of AMSR. It just completely blisses me out. What are those blue things swirly around in the last page? Some sort of torch projections?

Scarlet Traces: Still the only under-performer. It's a decent read but it's not gripping me like the other strips.

Deadworld: Speechless!

The Corinthian

It's a type of mask. Mills has appropriated it as a 17th century synonym for "superhero".

This being a Mills strip, superheroes are obviously treated as noble and incorruptible beings whose motives and conduct are beyond reproach.

Smith

Yes,this being the man who inspired Garth Ennis...

Rara Avis

I'm not usually a fan of Deadworld but the strip this week was phenomenal.

Re: Brink, I'm a bit confused about what's happening here.
When did Junot Snr go missing?
What was in the last Brink run?
Tiplodocus

Loved the prog  from cover to cover.

Who needs a tv series?
Be excellent to each other. And party on!

Re
when did Junot Snr go missing
- it is mentioned in the dialogue in the first episode of the current series.

Holy crap, just read the episode - I thought you were kidding, but that's actually the transliteration!  Cheeky buggers!

Some context for the innocent: https://youtu.be/_hnxies4Wtk

Rara Avis

Is that the first mention of it ever? It's not referencing a previous story?

It is in the sense that the climax of the last series was
the sudden disappearance of Mercury
, and that's where the gentleman was, as established in the first episode of the current series.  The local repercussions of a larger mystery, essentially.

anyone received this week issue yet ?
