Don't know what kind of fancy upbringing you had LP where your folks had plenty of cocktail swords lying around.  None of that nonesense in my Dad's garage.   

Painted matchsticks were the order of the day in our house.  Dip one end in silver paint from the Airfix box and colour the rest with a marker in the appropriate colour.

There's also a ridiculously wonderful O'Neill Starscan of Deadlock from the 1981 annual, which used to terrify me as a kid (Deadlock holding a massive scythe/spear combo).

There are so many gems in the early annuals and specials...

ABC Warriors hardback with colour spreads!? Like, wow.

I understand that the case files have to be black and white to keep costs down, but I always thought it a shame that digital editions don't have colour spreads (well, at least the samplers that I've seen).

Time is money of course and I guess it's more economical to use the print artwork for the digital versions.
