This year, as a sort of 'resolution' I've decided to take up an instrument.

Years ago I tried the Guitar, but that turned out to be too complicated (two hands at once!! no thanks), same goes for keyboard.

So, inspired by my father (who, years ago played claranet in a jazz band), I've started tackeling the harmonica, and it's suprisingly easy to pick up.

Pop's started with the harmonica a few years ago, and is quite impressive with it.

So i thought, how complicated can it be. 10 holes, blow or suck, that's 20 notes tops. Easy.

After 3 weeks I've got the gist of what's what, and the semblance of a tune. After three weeks of the guitar all I had was sore fingers!!

So, the point of this thread is..... any other borders play any instruments?

Max Kon

i used to play the violin and recorder, but have given them up, still play the keyboard though

Floyd-the-k

I play the saxophone, although haven't done so for years

and I used to sing for a couple of different garage bands

Rex Banner

I used to play the bugle. In a marching band no less.

johnnystress

I also play guitar

I've tried the harmonica too- used to pick it up and mess around with it when I was growing up

My girlfriend got me a new one and a "Teach yourself blues harp" dvd

All I've learned so far is that I've been playing the thing upside down all my life and if i want to follow the dvd i have to unlearn everything i thought i knew!

bah!

there was once talk of a 2000ad message board band- but that came to nothing

I blame Boo Cook for not motivating us

( he was the leader, our Brian Wilson if you will)

Henry Flint is part or a group called 'The Weathermen', we all know that Jock has been in a band or two and Simon Bisley generates plenty of noise, so there must be enough talent for a droid band.

Used to play the violin and piano many moons ago. Nasty screechy resin dust up yer nose thing. Piano was ok but gave it up. Toyed with guitar and bass to not much effect over the years. I tend to annoy people by trying to play things I don't know. Plays the first few intro bars of Metallica, Pink Floyd, LedZep quite well kind of guy. You all know the type.

Brief singing career, War Pigs in the local bar with a mate's band. Took much gin beforehand to gain courage, then forgot words in second verse :o) Blundered on with first verse ending again to as not to seem completely inept lol. Decided it was confusing cos God is mentioned twice in the second verse. Didn't seem right, brain kicked in, lost track.

I hope never to be drunk in the presence of a karaoke machine.
NEGOTIATION'S OVER!

Quirkafleeg

And Fraz plays bass

(Trumpet, Sax, Guitar... all very badly for me)
