New Spider-Man. Was worried it would all be lost on me because I don't know any of the characters (other than PP, obviously) but within minutes I was hooked and the whole thing was just joyous from start to finish.

Probably my favourite Spider-Man film, if I'm honest, and good enough that I wanted to sing it's praises so badly I actually engaged with other humans in something more than grudging grunts. That's powerful movie making.

I don't really do bingeing or boxset viewing; even dropped in one shows like netflix stuff I tend to ration out to one or two eps a week, a la trad viewing schedules. It's the old man in me,

That being said I'm hearing so much good word of mouth about Daredevil S3 I'm considering making an exception. Seems like no-one has a bad thing to say about it. Certainly from the one episode I've watched so far it looks like a return to form after a somewhat lacklustre S2.

I just got done watching all the Marvel movies with commentaries, after deciding on a whim to replace my dvds with blu-rays. Talented directors they may all be, but lets just say some of them are less well endowed in the charisma department than others. I'm naming no names,

Thanks! I debated doing a big announcement but then I realised that A) that would make me a knob, and B) the place is probably full of newbies who wouldn't know who the hell I was. So I settled on just quietly bumping this thread, still my greatest contribution to these here boards.

Barely getting any reading done of late but I'm currently about halfway through The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern.

It's really bloody good, which makes it all the more frustrating that I'm having to read it piecemeal. Definitely the kind of book  the old me would have devoured in a weekend

 This story ran very early in my reading of 2000ad and I have to say I loved it.  And this:

I would really love to know what EA made of this: whether the tone was something they had any input in or if they just coughed up some cash and only saw the result when the Prog dropped through their letterbox.

only really occurred to me later on but looking back you can see that they really were just extracting the urine with the brief. Which just makes you love it more, to be honest.

Well, I'm still getting it, although I've given up trying to second guess when it's due - I have a standing order at the newsies and whenever one comes out she just throws it my way when I pick up my Prog. Have to say, I'm still enjoying, perhaps more than I was in the early issues and I didn't have a problem with them.

The Pro is finished (the only one of it's reprints that I'd already read) and is due to be replaced by a returning Rex Royd (I may be in a minority of one but I'm quite excited to welcome that back) and the new Secret Agent thing (Who is Jake Elllis?) is looking very promising - I would have said it was more likely a schizophrenia thing than a haunting thing but they're hinting far too heavily at that now so I reckon it mustn't be.

The features, with the exception of the movie column, seem t have been phased out as well, leaving more pages of comics for the money so that's nice. Turf looks like it's due to end next issue as well and I'm enjoying trying to figure out what's going to replace it - Millar has said that the various upcoming Millarworld books will run in Clint but I don't think any of them are going to be out in time so God knows.

In all, I'm glad I stuck with it through the not perfect (but still good) early issues. I really think it's starting to find it's feet. It is a shame they don't seem to be able to settle into a decent  schedule, but I reckon that'll come. It's just to be hoped it doesn't drive everyone off in the meantime.

It is indeed. There's one of his called Endless Night that even I think may go 'too far' at times.

I read a lot of Laymon in my teens and as someone said, they can merge into one but Endless Night is as clear in my head now as the first time I read it. Seriously disturbed stuff but so relentlessly paced that you just can't bring yourself to stop. I read it in one sitting.

I was too young for Starlord at the time but I recently read all that stuff over on the Watching The Stars site and I'd agree that Mind Wars is a proper underrated gem.

I'd buy a trade in a heartbeat. Not least because said site, whether intentionally or not, wouldn't let me read  the end of it. I wondered if it might be some thing were they don't let you read the end so you have to buy a book, ut none of the other stories do it, so far as I can tell. (I din't try to read Stront and Ro-Busters 'cos I've already got those books.)

As for news of Jesus Redondo returning to th prog, I'd say it's great news because I do like to see the droids of yesteryear acknowledged, although I'm not really familiar with his work personally so the nostalgia factor isn't in play for me.

I'm a total technophobe myself but I've managed to add various bits and pieces to mine, including "a little counter thingy" without doing any permanent damage so it must be fairly idiot proof. (Although I did ask for help on here a couple of times) 

Sadly I use blogger, so can be of no help at all to you. Er, so, sorry.

Mid-season break comes after next weeks episode by Moffat. I'm hoping he can pull it back to go out on a high.

I think a lot of people must have made the same assumption because about 5 minutes after the episode finished Moffat was on twitter reassuring everyone that it was definitely on next week.
