Wow we're rattling through this and we're on the second to last vote of this round and the first result will be annouced in a second and then tournement proper starts - how exciting.

This time we have a very interesting vote with two top creators who have at times had a bumpy ride with readers, but have each produced work of great quality at times. So based on their writing (prose or otherwise) for Tharg whose work do you prefer.

Tony Lee http://www.2000ad.org/?zone=droid&page=profiles&choice=TONYLE

or

David Bishop http://www.2000ad.org/?zone=droid&page=profiles&choice=DAVEB

What is all this nonsense you ask well we're finding out whose 2000ad (Meg and associated items) writing do you prefer? Voting - just add a comment here with whose work you prefer (and anything else you might wish to say to discuss their work). This vote closes some time early Wednesday 27th May?

Next Qualifying 2 face off starts tomorrow - we're getting nearly at the Tourney proper - how exciting.

When I die, I want to die like my grandfather who died peacefully in his sleep. Not screaming like all the passengers in his car.

Old age is the Lord's way of telling us to step aside for something new. Death's in case we didn't take the hint.

It's David Bishop for me - although if it was purely on 2000AD comics scripting duties, I think Necrophim would give Lee the edge. But it ain't, and Bishop's wider written contributions overwhelm.

IndigoPrime

Bishop, just, primarily on the basis of his text work. But I suspect he's going to come a cropper when coming up with someone who has a much bigger body of strip work.

In the year 5073, trees have evolved into sentience. Can The Spruce Girls defeat the evil Lumber-Jack?

Introducing The Spruce Girls:

- Norway Spruce - "Let's stay frosty!"
- Weeping Spruce - "We're never gonna make it!"
- Dwarf Spruce - "You got somethin' ta say?"
- Oriental Spruce - "Wise tree bends in wind!"
- Black Spruce - "Whaddup?"

Tony Lee gets my vote, for Necrophim.

To misquote Fox Spacespinner - I love you man.

Rules query: are we counting everything Bishop wrote, or only comic strips? Because it Thrill-Power Overload qualifies then I'll vote for him. Otherwise I vote for "none of the above."

On the database the prologue to Necrophim is wrongly attributed to Tony Luke: http://www.2000ad.org/?zone=thrill&page=profiles&choice=NECROPHI

Colin YNWA

Yep go for it. Thrillpower Overload defo counts in my mind.

David Bishop for me - I haven't loved anything he's done, though it's all fairly competent, but Tony Lee was just so consistently wide of the mark, so much of the time. Actively hated Stalag 666, and Necrophim became the first-ever prog story that I stopped reading.
