Sorry I rijigged that as it didn't make much sense.  Now there are two posts on the board.

I clicked the top option, although I didn't even buy my VHS copy. I won it in a Dredd pub quiz in '96. IIRC, I got 2 wrong: I was out on the first issue date by a couple of days and got the number of citizen's housed in each citiblock wrong (although you could argue that the number depends on the size of the block). 18 out of 20 wasn't bad going for me, but I felt like a bit of a sad knacker when it was read out that the person in second place only got 3 right.

paulvonscott

Yes, that is bad...

As for what you put on the poll, it's fine.

paulvonscott

The poll doens't really work anyway, I should have said the last two questions were optional or left them off.  This way, it doesn't make much sense if people have never bought a copy and have never never bought a copy.

could do with having more options as I've never bought a copy personally but have:

Plus you could have

DVD Region 1

and if moving images are too much for you then there's always

What about those who will never buy a copy?

paulvonscott

Never say never.

I did originally have a never option, but I think it you either have or you haven't bought it and which format is enough.

VHS is an all but redundant format anyway, so variations on it is a moot point, and things like laserdisc were fairly marginal.

The main purpose of the poll was to see how many 2000AD fans had bought it and what would entice them to do so in the future.

I should have thought it through better, but I'm tired :p

Carlsborg Expert

I have it on VHS.  I may update it to DVD for cut and paste purposes.

[OFF TOPIC]On a lighter note. I just completed GTA LC stories. Come on Vice City.[/OFF TOPIC]

Its gonna come back in fifty years as something similiar to a Ray Harryhousen representation of how we " saw the future in those days."

JOE SOAP

I declare now I will never buy a copy of this movie no matter what kind of extras/commentaries/dredd dildos or otherwise it comes with

I own Dirty Harry and Robocop, they're much better Dredd movies.

ukdane

Hmmm! I answered
Yes, I had a copy on VHS, but haven't updated and
I have never bought a copy of the movie, begause I recorded off tv, onto VHS- so I never actually bought it.
I might if there was a Directors cut on DVD and
I would if there were a Wagner and Grant commentary on it... and it added to the film- guess it depends on what other extras were available.

As a Sci-fi film, I enjoyed it.
As an adaptation of the comic character, I accept that it is a hollywood interpretation of the character.
Could it have been better- yes.
Could it have been more true to the original source material- hell yeah.
Cheers

Concrete Block 15

I bought it on release in VHS Widescreen format, featuring a highly informative 'Making Of...' featurette that consisted of about ten minutes worth of Stallone spouting cod philosophical shite.

It came with a whopping free poster, a huge long fold out thing with a helmeted Sly bordered by a panoramic view of Mega-City One; still got it lying around, somewhere.
