Title: Glasgow Xmas night oot *sigh*
Post by: Satanist on 06 November, 2017, 04:28:30 PM
Inspired by a recent phonecall from Dr X after he tried to run me down at Charing cross I'm going to give our annual pantomime another go. Who's in? We can then in-out-shake it all about and cancel until March later on.

I suggest an evening in December in Slouch on Bath street

I can do Friday 8th but that's it I'm afraid! Then you run into work dos.

I could possibly make November 24th or 25th if that's a help.

EDIT: I never ran him over. I tooted my horn and gave a friendly wave and the ignorant buffoon looked around blankly, like Buttonman when it's his round.

I had no idea there was a Charing Cross in Glasgow - how did it get it's name?  The one in London was named after the saxon word for 'bend in the river' with the cross from the Eleanor Cross erected in the 13th Century...

This is exactly the sort of quality banter we have on these nights (when they happen).

I'm game but have commitments in diary already and the 8th is already oot for me I'm afraid.

PS:  Now that Mr. Burdis is no longer with us, could someone else from down south post on this thread about how useless we are at organising things?

As far as I know its named after the London one. Is the 24/25 good for all then? I actually have no idea if I can make these and as I have the flu at the moment cant be arsed checking.

It's all a bit fluid for me at the moment but might be able to make it out for a bit on 24th or 25th and also early on ( say 1630 to 1800) on the 8th.

I met Satanist in WH Smith's - surely that counts as my forum socialising for the year?

8th is my works do but I may be able to make it out later on when we are all a bit more sociable! (pissed)

That's my Union Committee night out, so I won't be along, unless of course its the usual damp squid and cancelled at the last minute... having said that I'm getting wood delivered in the afternoon not a euphemism, so might not be up to The Hell Trek to Weegeeville.

1. Me
2. Satanist
3. Tiplodocus
4. Fungus
5. Flip (from about 9)

No Proudhuff.

Great time catching up but even I must admit that The Variety is more shabby shithole now than shabby chic! Still love it though.
