This thread. But you know, come to think of it...

Coen Brothers films
Breaking Bad
Dexter

This thread and people who seem to be using it as an excuse to slag people off e.g. fonky. Please fuck off again, that's a post written by a real cunt.

Heh, I was impressed (ish) with the first one but the second was just annoying. There seems to be a trend of anything Speilberg's involved with being crap e.g. Terra Nova, then this. Although he is involved with Falling Skies isn't he? I like that, although similar annoyances abound in it.

As long as you go for 1st class postage, you usually get it on the day of release from Amazon. Then again, I wouldn't want to make any promises on their behalf.

Just make sure your wife isn't home alone for the delivery*

*Small joke for anyone who saw South Park this week  ;)

Really enjoyed the 2nd one. Not laughed that much at an episode since series 6. Some great "logic" homour in there and the father's day stuff was classic.

So, anyone been watching this or did the thread put you off? I'm loving it. It's not brilliant, but it's good. Enjoying it way more than The River, which is just yet more annoying POV faux-documentary shite.

"How could taking my old teddy bear from a creepy doll shrine in the middle of the jungle cause any harm?"

"Oh, did you forget that you'd trapped an angry spirit thing that killed one of your crew in a weird wooden thing last week? Really?"

Anyway, that was a tangent. I'm enjoying Continuum. It's kind of like The Event (standards-wise), but better, in much the same way that The Event was better than Flash Forward. And the protagonist's hot as hell I have to say. This of course helps tremendously.

...who remembers something in the strip about them being damaged by something beginning with D. Deuterium? Anyway, Ro-Jaws apparently made some joke about it "Pity we weren't the ABCD Warriors" or something like that.

As used by the Imperial Rottweillers, the Imperial taskforce specifically designated to hunt down and destroy the Warriors after their destruction of Agartha city and the theft of Emperor Zalinn's tombship; to this day one of the few enemies to prove very much the Warrior's match.

It was Hammerstein! Splendid, cheers Jimbo.

Also, Sarcasm, should they ever encounter Doug Dinsdale

Been giving the new Godspeed You! Black Emperor a trial run. If you've heard one of their records before then it wont be much of a surprise but it's got some characteristically intense passages.

Also finally got a copy of the Voices from the Lake album which is pretty great when you turn it up loud enough. I still take perverse pleasure in tracking down records that I want, either online or in real life, rather than downloading them.

Some of these recent posts are tempting me to dig out that Nomeansno/Biafra collaboration.

That tempts me to just get it. Amazon tried to sell me it yesterday cos other people that pre-ordered the new Neurosis had too, but I'd already caved in in their attempts to sell me the new Converge. I got an older one of theirs recently which I liked a lot, like a mellower version of other things I like, such as the aforementioned Neurosis.

Also, there seems to be quite a sizable group of Nomeansno fans on here, that's at least 5! The Baifra one is awesome :D

Killing God by Ultraviolence: had this for many years. Not an amazing album by any stretch, but it's got some real fine moments (if you like shouty/hardcore/gabba techno).

Destroyer by Static X: again not amazing. My mate classes them as industrial Metal, but they ain't no Ministry!

Cheers  :)

They do a fine, if very similar, version of Burning Inside! Hmm, should be on the cover thread  ;)

The other week I was listening (live) to Nomeansno (still bloody fantastic, Rob must be in his 70s now!) and Voivod. Absolutely loved that, been a favourite for years and I've never seen them.

In contrast to the usual, I'm going to see 10cc on Saturday, then back to the other end of the spectrum in 2 weeks, another trip to London to see Pig Destroyer  :D

Houmous - some kind of Greek recession proof accountant droid? Pat does like his topical politics after all  :D

It's a great image, there's something fantastic about putting Dredd's serious face up against something really silly, such as various simps over the years/Santa/other silly characters.

As the cards also inspired the superhero cards bit of Marshall Law - Fear & Loathing, Mars Attacks is indeed a splendid thing.

Was talking about the Warriors with a mate the other night, who remembers something in the strip about them being damaged by something beginning with D. Deuterium? Anyway, Ro-Jaws apparently made some joke about it "Pity we weren't the ABCD Warriors" or something like that. I've only got a vague memory of it, though I'm sure someone will pin it down  ;)
