I don't think my thread had anything to do with this but it's a timely coincidence.

Demos99,  you do know 2000ad has undergone to my reckoning at least four size changes. Z

In regards to bags it doesn't really matter, especially if you use backing boards.
All mine are bagged in 2000 AD (original) size bags. In regards to the binders, then it may make a difference. I have measured it up as I intend to bind mine professionally (one day).
Tell that to my modern size bags (only non-US size bags I can find in walk-in comic shops) and old progs, Tornados and Specials!  I've looked on eBay for old-style bags, but the descriptions don't make it clear enough exactly what they'll fit.

Tin swr?  This description looks fairly clear.

Got home tonight to find four TCUs waiting for me, which was a surprise as I didn't think they were out until next month.

Tempted but £6.00 for delivery ouch

COMMANDO FORCES

Mine have just arrived, along with a couple of other 2000 AD items, so the day has started well :D

Have to say they look lovely. Wish I had space for them. Jealous much!

Mine arrived today and they are indeed lovely... Make it so easy to pick up and flick through 6 months of the prog at a time. Now to work backwards year by year until I have my collection bound. I might make myself a nice detailed contents page for each volume printed on folded A3 using one of the spare cords :)

Thats what I plan on doing, slowly heading backwards through the collection. Mine arrived today and look very nicely done. Would be handy to know how many of the 500 run are left.  If there are a shedload I'll get some more of this one otherwise I'll wait for the next design.

Question... can I put Specials in that binder to? I mean like 1961?

Yes, you can. At least, I've put both 2015 and 1961 (both versions) in my binders without any problems. Just find the middle pages of the prog (in the case of 1961 that seems to be the Dredd Xmas text story by my count) to avoid putting undue strain on the spine. The Cordex cords have a 3-5cm stretch capacity so you shouldn't have any difficulty inserting the Specials, though if you need to remove them for any reason it can be a little fiddly as the Specials don't fold open flat like the regular progs.

Looking at the binder sizing it seems that these will be good for prog 2004 onwards. The older progs are either too tall or too wide to fit. I assume this is a toe dipping exercise at the moment to see how they sell but it would be good to know if it proves successful if there would be scope for a range of older size binders too.

So that's what is waiting for me in the depot. Nice one! They look great and I can honestly say binders are well worth the money. Great to be able to go back a re read thrills comfortably. I've started doing re reads of series that return after long periods so I can catch up. I was honestly thinking of switching to just getting trades but having progs in binders has changed all that. I'm staying weekly.
