It's the 2000AD podcasts cross-over event that you didn't know you needed. Conrad from Space Spinner 2000 joins the book club to discuss the first thrill ever.

"His name is Savage, Bill Savage. Husband to a murdered wife, father to a murdered child. And he will have his vengeance in the first prog, and the next."

This should be classic. The Space Spinner episode where they discuss Bill's vilest deeds (Locking the doors on a factory, filling it with acid and then letting the skeleton flow out) was hilarious.

Thank you so much for having me! This show as a lot of fun and I hope we were able to get across the ridiculous awesomeness of this early thrill. It's one of my absolute favorites, and is one of my key yardsticks for how good a story is. I had a great time on the show, and am telling everyone I know to check it out :D Looking forward to more!

Conrad's main grail pick. Check the Facebook page for our other grail pages.

And it was great having you, Conrad. A really enjoyable discussion.
Pick a book for next year.

Hey everyone! I've just posted the Space Spinner 2000 collection for Invasion, if you're interested in a companion to this episode. While we lack Eamonn's soothing voice, I think we have some excellent observations and provide a very in-depth prog by prog view of the stories. Check it out here!

I'd be a fool to not pick another of my favorite year-one thrills, SHAKO!

Matt Sharp brings his gamesmaster shield to the book club as I roll a mere 1 for experience on the D20. We talk about the game, some of the add-on modules, and the various campaigns Matt ran with his group of players. Also there's a panoply of great art to illustrate the two game book.
