Panzer G Man would sell , convinced of it
#2

I wish Rebellion would reprint Panzer G Man
which was superb ( art by Jim Watson ) with Hold Hill 109

Dredd with R M Guero,I enjoyed this single story , one point ( no spolier ) is that the colourist messed up as one Cadet has a RED Helmet , in one scene ( thats vital to know its a Cadet )
whereas it should be a WHITE Helmet . I had to re-read it .
I am also looking forward to seeing how Moon develops.

Full Tilt Boogie - enjoyable .

Thistlebone - great serial , and artwork . No Complaints

Indigo Prime - not for me . Struggle to understand much of it . if others love it , fine .

Rogue Trooper
not too bad .

Proteus Vex
This was just amazing , and also a very welcome return

Now Tharg - When do we get Gordon Rennie's Jaegir back please ??

This is highly recommended , from Treasury of British Comics

released 27th March 2024

There has never before been an anti-hero like Hellman of Hammer Force in British comics!

From the invasion of Poland in 1939 through to the fall of Berlin in 1945, Hellman of Hammer Force saw action on many fronts, and this collection contains all the hard-hitting war stories told through the eyes of Hellman which were published in Battle from 1977 through to 1978.

This ground-breaking series of thrilling combat is written by Gerry Finley-Day (Rogue Trooper) and drawn by Mike Dorey (Ro-Busters) and Patrick Wright (Day of the Eagle).

Stories include:
Hellman on the Russian Front
The Early Adventures

Thanks for the kind update

I bought this

and it details the number of pages still to be published ( from 14th May 1977 to 17th April 1982 )
and I have totalled them up , using the above book ( highly recommended ) -
its still 340 pages to be published .

to be published - the last Volume had 278 pages approximately , so we will need 2 Volumes to complete the saga that ended with Mercy Mission ( by Ken Roscoe ) from Look and Learn 13/02/1982 to 17/04/1982
which had 10 pages - which ended with Issue 1049 ( April 1982 )

Surely Rebellion will announce another Volume 6 to be Published later this year for Xmas  , with the sixth final Volume in 2025 ??

Perhaps Rebellion can clear this up , on the Forum or on the Treasury of British Comics Facebook page ?

Suggestions / Battle T shirt & Trigan Empire V6 ?
03 March, 2024, 08:11:08 PM
Can I suggest that Tharg would sell more T shirt Merchandise if it was ' Battle Picture Weekly ' related ( 1975-1988 ) especially the Logo and then a few well known characters like Hellman of Hammer Force , Darkies Mob , Charley's war and Cooley's Gun etc

Also how about some reprints of Panzer G man and Cooley's Gun ?

Also when is Volume 6 of Trigan Empire being offered for sale please ?
Regards David .

Hi
There will be more than one Volume to come, maybe 3 or 4 as we have reached only early 1977, and the series lasted till April 1982

Plus the limited edition hardback has a diagonal stripe in the artwork on the spine , that seems to be a few volumes short before completion.  I measured it a few months ago....

hardback in question

I received the 5th Volume a little while ago - the final chunk of Don Lawrence art is collected here and it's just as fantastic as ever. The quality never dipped across all the years of work.

Visually impressive. The second half is by Oliver Frey and it's colourful and artwork was
just as great as I remember it from April 1977.
One complaint - I own the original magazines - the reproduction or scanning for 1977 editions isn't too good.
The original copy is a lot clearer and just better to look at .

I hope this doesn't happen again with Volume 6

Prog / Re: Prog 2323: The Out
15 March, 2023, 04:20:56 PM
my take on the Prog

Dredd - so far pretty good - moving on nicely - 4 stars

The Out - the highlight of the Prog along with Proteus Vex , fabulous ( and loved the cover )
5 stars

Future Shock - very well done and an original story . 5 stars

The Order - 1star - glad some are enjoying this strip - for me , stopped following it a while ago

Proteus Vex - I am always highly impressed with this original and engaging strip
- PLUS the art and story direction are simply first class ( and have been since the start
( 6 STARS )

Prog / Re: Prog 2322 - Corporate Carnage!

I very much enjoyed the entire Prog - apart from THE ORDER - which i will be glad to see the back of .

I am fairly ( actually amazed ) at the harsh words for Pat Mill's Joe Pineapples ( first scripted in 2016 )
it's not Pat's Fault - this took nearly 7 or 8 years to appear in print -
let that sink in , if you ignore everything else I write here .

I thoroughly enjoyed ;) the story - and I add , I am a subscriber since 2012 .
the old saying comes to mind , if you have nothing nice to say , best say nothing .
Thank you Mr Mills for all your work  .

I bought Battle from 1975 to about 1983 ( College took over )
this is such good news - a must buy for me !
Hope Hellman returns to the Eastern Front - in a Tiger Tank
I also am very , very happy that the Cooley's Gun is back !!
( which i had forgot was written by the Great Gerry Finlay-Day ( every story that guy wrote , resonated with me to this day ) I loved this no-nonsense strip
