Not sure that too many great ideas is something to complain about, but I know what you're getting at.

This story had to be told in 8 episodes, so it must have been a challenge to get everything in. A bit more space to breathe -- 10 or 12 episodes -- would have given Emma Beeby more room to manoeuvre. But with experience she'll get better at telling a condensed story in the pages and episodes allotted to her. So I'd say the solution is more Beeby, not less, in future.

Broodblik is correct, it's just a title page for the episode.

Bumping this to the top for you.

There doesn't always have to be balance you know. Sometimes there's nothing wrong with just slagging something off.

Why isn't Simon Pegg in this, FFS?
#2106
Oh good! I'd assumed that it wasn't, since there were some older stories on that wish list.

Also Bride of the Warlock in the 1992 Winter Special.

My favourite Nemesis stories are books V and VI, so each to their own. Loved the Monad and whatever the liquid people were called.

Other Reviews / Outlier

Just re-read all of Outlier in the last three floppies, and it was much better than I remembered. I really like the bleak ending. I feel like this series deserves to be remembered more fondly, and that it would be suitable for the Mega-Collection.

Also, both Caul and Carcer are dicks.

Can't see anything wrong with the script.

It's an excellent film. Definitely needs to be seen on a proper big screen, preferably an IMAX.

The previous 11 pages were wrong.

These are all recent.

Just finished reading Goodnight, John-Boy today, the second book in the series. Loved it. Not as much about 2000AD as I'd expected, seems that will mostly be in the next book, but I've got to the point now where I'm enjoying the books in their own right and not just for the 2000AD connection. Dave Maudling is a crazy bastard.

(Also I'd quite like Tharg to commission a one-off Caning Commando story for the prog, with art by Kevin O'Neill. That would be ... different.)

Can't remember who Echo is, or how Karyn got possessed by a demon, although I do recall that that happened. But will be interesting to see what happens next week. And Roach's art is brilliant.

I like how Nu-Earth is a dumping-ground for has-beens.

All five stories were good this week.

It was a ridiculous notion.

Books & Comics / Re: 80's Dan Dare

I don't know about that. You might have fond memories of it, but it was 30 years ago and memories get rose-tinted. I just bought a few '80s Eagles a few weeks ago, and Dan Dare was shit.

If Rebellion owns the rights to Eagle now, they do far better to reprint Doomlord and House of Daemon.
