Did they?  Probably.

Which non-comic artists within reason or without reason would you like to do a 2000AD cover and what topic?

John Blanche doing a Slaine cover.

Ian Miller doing a strange Mega City Scene.

Any others?

Capt.Zeep

'course they did!
I'll have to go for without reason - Albrecht Durer doing Nemesis!

judda fett

Egon Scheile doing an Angel Gang cover.

...failing that - the artist formerly known as Prince doing an Angel gang cover.

seeneester

Chris Achilleos doing Dredd (f'nar, f'nar), and NO THEY BLOODY DIDN'T!

You haven't heard of the Beatles/time travel theory then?

paulvonscott

No, I think I'm wrong.  They did them, but didn't record them on albums is my guess.

How much would a Hockney Tharg cost us?  That would be fucking brill.

Hirst or Vermin can f*ck off though.

Slippery PD

When the beatles started out they lived in germany basially touring around doing covers of American rock n' roll.  Its where they learned tehir trade and in fact Mccartneys new alnbum is a series of old covers that they never recorded as a band.

Theyve even made a film about it.  Backbeat IIRC!!!

"No, I think I'm wrong. They did them, but didn't record them on albums is my guess".

No need to apologise to the ginger dwarf Paul, The Beatles did indeed cover "Twist & shout", and it can be found, along with a great many other cover versions, on their "Please please me album".

Gah!

Paul's structurally weak brain finally explodes.

Yeah, the Beatles did a lot of covers early in their career, especially "Live". Their cover version of "ANNA, Go To Him" was awesome.

This was a great Beatles cover too! ;-)
