Having looked at the their FB page bar the word Deadline in its title does this new creation have anything to do with the old Deadline?

just comic with same name as different comic from 90s

Lettering nerds are the absolute worst.  Maybe it's just the designer's workflow to tinker in PS before changing the colour profile and exporting the PSD file directly into Illustrator for print?

I have to agree I think it was more of it's time, but you never know I always enjoyed it's diversity.
Here some images of my small collection bought at the time from Smiths.

Even though the music stuff in Deadline is very dated, some of it was written by the late, great Steven Wells.  Even his stories about bands I never heard of before are excellent reading, which is why I always pick up a Deadline if I see it in a box of beat-up magazines in Great Escape or that place in Knoxville where I always find neat things.

This is apparently still happening, whoever is behind it certainly very ambitious. It's odd that the article doesn't name any names though...

As long as the mag isn't filled with too much "indie wank", as I like to call it, I'm sure I'll pick it up!  :)

If there's not a feature in this about Ride, Curve, Lush or Cud (but especially Cud...) then it's no business calling itself Deadline.

We have hipster cafes to experience this in person now, we don't need mags as such to fulfill the worlds quote of obnoxiousness.
