I never really understood why it was Burdis and not Rachel getting the (nominal) KTT...

It's a lot easier to wear a jumper than make one!

Aw thanks, though to be fair, the Dredd Sweater looks like a dress on me - Burdis wears it well.

Saw this thread pop up and thought "Oh what's he gone and done now?" and totally forgot it was about his Christmas Jumper. Not long to go now till it'll be making its appearance again, I reckon.  :D

Another one, courtesy of Paul McKenna, is to remember you ate one of the richest people who ever lived.  That's not even a lie.

And now I have I Eat Cannibals playing in my head, so of course I have to share the earworm.  Enjoy

It's a really small thing but it helps me not get grumpy. If there's some reason I have to go and run an errand or walk further than I'd intended to, or even if I forgot something from upstairs and need to go and fetch it I can tell myself "at least it increases my step count for today", and I'm being that tiny little bit healthier even if its by accident.

Hottest day of the year. Hottest day for years... guess who's going to a gig at which black and/or leather is more or less mandatory?*

This is going to be... sweaty.

*Not like there's much else in my wardrobe.

Sorry to derail the thread slightly - who are you off to see?  Enjoy the gig  :)
I could add a gripe about the woes of being a goth in weather like today, but I managed to survive with Factor 50 sunblock.

I'll make sure to post on topic separately.

Watching Ep3 as I type - finding the whole thing quite boring, tbh.

Thank heavens it's not just me. I wanted to like it, really I did but trope after trope, awful acting and such a dreary pace and I very literally fell asleep.

I tried to make it to episode 2 and fell straight back to sleep.

, or the history of the sock.

I'd love to help out, but my knowledge has holes in ;)

As one of the resident wool-crafty perps on the forum I might be able to help out.

Of course, I might just be spinning a long yarn on the matter, so will I help? I'm a frayed knot

Ooh you're not wrong - that was brilliant!

Thanks to this thread, Sheridan is reading them out aloud to me and doing his best Tim vine or Milton Jones impersonation.

Please make him stop!  ::)

Absolutely devastated that Keith Flint died, especially as it was depression that led to him ending his life.  :'(
RIP my favourite Firestarter.

Once upon a time in a math class during a test, a classmate asked out teacher: "How many sides does a dice have?".

Our teacher said she refused to answer that.
She should have told him to roll for knowledge check (using a D20) ;)

About five or six years ago, I was working for an advertising company as a data analyst (I know, shame on me) and a member of IT needed to get in contact with me but emails kept bouncing when he tried to email me.  You'd think if someone's working in IT they'd know how to use the global address book if the email is bouncing at the instant they try to send it to me.

I get a call from said IT Bod and he complains he's trying to send an email and I must have done something to my email account. It turns out he just kept mispelling my firstname and the email address format at this place was firstname.surname@company.com

Me: well I am recieving emails from other staff fine - are you sure you are contacting the correct Rachael?
IT Bod: Is your last name <uses my last name>?
Me: yes. Hmmm. What email address are you sending it to?

IT Bod spells out my email address with a typo - basically he missed out the second a in my first name.
Me: Ah that's why. You've missed out a letter. My email address is <insert correct one>
IT Bod: Oh, you spell your name wrong
Me: Oh you sweet summer child, I've been spelling my name this way for over 30 years, it's MY name. I think I know how to spell it!  You could have looked it up in the staff directory  ::)

Thankfully I don't work there any more.

Music / Re: Discovered / rediscovered music thread

During the week between Christmas and New Year I had loads of time to listen to music and have been revisiting my time whilst at Uni (late 90s/early 00s) and I was very late in discovering the Stone Roses.

I keep hearing Waterfall and She Bangs a Drum and drifting back into a happy place. Anything with guitars in makes me happy but yeah, I could listen to The Stone Roses for a long while before I get bored.  I might lose my license to goth though, as it sure isn't anything like Fields of the Nephilim or Sisters of Mercy or Bauhaus.

Music / Re: What's everyone listening to...?

This week, I have been mostly listening to Engel's latest album "Abandon All Hope".  It's not the most optimistic of titles, but as a metal album with great tunes, it is just bliss.  Of course I am totally biassed as they are one of my favourite bands, but yeah, if you happen to like metal witha a bit more meloday and less growly vocals, they're worth checking out.
