Not to be confused with Male issues - don't start posting about that...

We're aware of a problem with the mail redirects and are currently sorting it. I'll let you all know when they're working properly again.

Announcements / Site Downtime
17 May, 2010, 10:45:03 AM
Argh, yes it's that time again where we kick off the crust and shift over to something new and shiny  ;)

This is likely to happen over the next couple of days. If the site's offline then it's good news as the transition's in place and it won't be much longer. Hopefully you lot won't be without your thrillpower for too long!

I'll keep you posted as and when it's going ahead!

News / A Quick Q&A With Firestep Films
12 October, 2009, 03:43:00 PM
Following the positive reaction to the ABC Warriors teaser trailer, Firestep's Steve Maher was kind enough to answer a few questions about the proposed 2000 AD full motion comic TV series with a special focus on the ABC warriors themselves.

How long will each episode run for?

Each week three short serial episodes of three different 2000 AD Characters will make up a half hour show structured like a comic. We are initially looking to make three hours of animation in total. However, in the end the actual format and durations will be governed to a large extent by what the broadcaster wants.

Are you using storylines originally published in 2000 AD or completely new scripts?

A comic script and an animation series script are very different things but we will certainly be looking to adapt the rich legacy of ABC storylines to base our adventures on.

What age will the animation be aimed at? Have you had to tone down the violence to meet a level of requirement?

The broadcaster has not been determined yet and as such we don't have a definitive target audience fixed. The level of action will in the end be dictated by where the animated shows appear.

How long does it take to create an episode, from initial script to finished product?

We would expect the series production to take  12 to 14 months in total from green light to completion.

With several 2000 AD artists contributing to the look of the ABC Warriors did you use any one particular style to develop the animated series look?

The look is an adaptation and bringing together of elements from the designs of all of the great 2000 AD artist's versions of the Warriors. The existing work from McMahon and O'Neil  to Flint and everyone in between has contributed individual aspects to the look of the characters - hopefully our versions do justice to their art without being based directly on any one artists vision.

Do you have a particular favourite amongst the ABC Warriors?

Personally I like Deadlock - unlike the rest of the Meknificent 7 he is an organic character with flowing robes so he appeals to my masochistic streak as he's going to be by far the hardest to realise in 3D animation!

Announcements / 2000 AD Website Back and Badass!
25 August, 2009, 10:30:29 PM
Well...that took a damn "site" longer than expected.

So, we have basically a bells and whistles framework to start working with. The show's most certainly not over and in the coming weeks, months, years we have plenty more to pack into our new and shiny site. Vincebot will be keeping you posted with updates in development who is seriously starting to run out of batteries as I've kept him up until the small hours to complete this - so slap that droid on the back people.

Hope you all enjoy, and please post any constructive feedback and feature requests into the post Vince puts up shortly  ;)

I've limited the amount of personal messages any one person can send per hour to 3. This is to help stop someone signing up and sending out 20 odd as default and hour so we can ban their ass faster.

let me know if any of you run into problems with that limitation.

Website and Forum / Forum Move - Not Belgium...
09 July, 2009, 11:53:15 AM
Hey All,

We're planning on transferring you all over to a new forum tomorrow. More than one reason behind the scenes, but ultimately it's because this one has more facilities, stats and general shenanigans (hopefully cutting down the spam to boot). I'll give you all the heads up tomorrow when this starts if everything goes well. There'll be some downtime as we shift all the data across and spend some time getting rid of inactive members and compile the search function.

Cheers,

Keeping you all in the loop, the website has and still is a massive project that's getting battered around quite a bit at the moment. We've got another guy starting soon to speed up the process, which is nice! Will keep you all updated in the meantime. Thanks to most of you for keeping your cool hats on :)
