I'd also like other Squaxx out there who a reading something we don't regularly shout about to post about the comics.

Accent UK is a good shout - they have been around for a long time and know their business.
(works laptop won't let me visit the site)

The Denton brothers self publish Massacre: For Boys https://www.comicsy.co.uk/massacreforboys/ and I think many of their titles are still available via comicsy, however they are remastering the older strips into a more modern look (relettering and new colour on some strips) with a view to releasing a trade. The brothers best work is the Walking wounded - which is WWII era war strips with a supernatural slant.

Give me a couple of days Colin and I can report back fully. I'll have to try a few others next month.

Right, just off this thread I've picked up various bits from Brawler, Paragon, Futurequake, Zarjaz and Dogbreath, two of Gustaffo Vargas's cyberpunk comics and Woodland Creatures (Bolt, I was able to buy this last one no problem off the website)

Really enjoying what I have read so far. The anthology comics are a mix, as you'd expect, and I can highly recommend both Woodland Creatures and the Vargas stuff - both cool concepts and great art. I've also found the people I've dealt with to be almost universally really cool.
I may have maxed out my comic budget for this month but I'm resolved to try more of the stuff suggested here and also delve into some back issues and explore the scene a little more myself.

I've just taken delivery of PARAGON#27 and it looks fantastic! I've a few spares, so if you'd like one visit http://paragoncomic.blogspot.com/2021/04/missed-kickstarter-dont-worry.html and order a copy  :)
An old-school, no-bullshit, boys-own action/adventure comic reminiscent of the 2000ads and Eagles and Warlords and Battles and other glorious black-and-white comics that were so, so cool in the 70's and 80's - Buy the hardback Christmas Annual!

Really enjoyed what I read from Paragon so have jumped in on that.

Rogue / other people who recommended Accent, any idea if Westernoir continued beyond book 5? I've seen references too book 6 being printed some years ago on Accent's blog, but can't find anything else about it and their website is a bit busted.

There has been 8 books so far of Western Noir and 2 books Tales of Western Noir which contain 2 short stories in each issue. Dave West normally posts about his latest books on Facebook these days so the website hasn't been updated for sometime

Let's keep this thread going.

I've just read Damsel from D.I.S.T.R.E.S.S, which can best be described as a D&D / spy mashup. It's a light, fun, all action read - art is very modern looking which accentuates that. It's back on KS for the next two issues at the moment.

Also the latest issue of Paragon was ace. The final page of the Si Spencer / Tom Newell story made me genuinely laugh.

Glad you enjoyed it, Boots. I think this issue is a particular good 'un.

Did you try Sentinel?

I backed the Kickstarter for the latest issue, thought that'd be the best place to start.

I've just read The Seven Sagas of Silverbeard issue 1 and really enjoyed it - if you like Conan, or gorillas, or homages to classic comics and would like to see all of these things in one comic then I thoroughly recommend this.

I'll check out Switchblade Stories next, cheers Colin!

What do you mean you haven't tried it? If you've bought any of the recent small press comics getting all the kudos, even the ones that have hit WHSmith (you know who I mean), then you should definitely try this one!
