Well this is bloomin' good news

Slightly tempered by the fact that they are cutting the budget to the website by 25% and I'm sure for other than Asian Network is also going.

A great victory for the BBC this. FANTASTIC!

This sets a terrible precedent for the oiks having a say in how the BBC is run.  That just isn't cricket.

Good news indeed but it's still a damn shame the rock show was dropped.  >:(

Too eighties?

I think it's a pity that rock music barely gets a look in nowadays.

It was usually quite a good mix of old and new stuff. I can't understand why the BBC couldn't continue broadcasting just 3 hours of rock a week.

Mind you, my preference is for rock 'n' pop, not metal or rock 'n' hip-hop.

There are other digital radio stations playing that kind of music... provided you don't mind adverts.

Why are many radio Adverts so bloody awful anyway?

True, and some are good but Bruce Dickinson's show on 6Music was really good. He'll probably get another show on another station when the latest Iron Maiden tour has finished.

Don't worry, maybe someone will say a rude word on air and the BBC will shut the station down to avoid offending anyone.
