I'm doing a set at Poptimism this Friday evening at the HORSE BAR on Westminster Bridge Road in London - full details at http://freakytrigger.co.uk/poptimism/

It's an end-of-decade special playing nothing but Noughties. Come and groove to the decade when pop finally ate itself and became stronger and stranger than ever!

I was interviewed by the 411 show - an internet music show - about Murderdrome. Including me reading the first episode out and doing all the voices. Here it is for anyone who wants a look: http://twurl.cc/1ex9

Events / POPTIMISM, Friday 26th June in London
24 June, 2009, 09:18:31 PM
http://freakytrigger.co.uk/poptimism/

If you're living in London, you have no reason not to attend Poptimism, at the Horse Bar in Lambeth (124 Westmisnter Bridge Road), 7 'till Late, this Friday 26th June. Listen to Pop, dance to Pop, drink Pop (also Beer, Spirits). Occasionally a hangout for 2000AD alumni and other comics people - not sure that'll happen this time, but I'll be on the decks for a micro-set as DJ Christ so there will be some novelty value for the musically discerning Squaxx.

NOW ALL DANCE.

Events / DINOSAUR PLANET FEAT. MJ HIBBETT
10 June, 2009, 06:20:47 PM
MJ HIBBETT ('Hey Hey 18K', 'The Lesson Of The Smiths') is teaming up once again with master knob-turner Steve 'Carsmile' Hewitt ('Freaky Trigger & The Lollards Of Pop' on Resonance FM) for a musical described as 'War Of The Worlds with more dinosaurs'. Any 2000AD readers in Edinburgh for the Fringe are guaranteed a brontastic time! Mark's a confirmed Squaxx of long standing himself, so you know he'll be bringing the thrill power.

Help! / Help wanted...
08 April, 2009, 03:09:25 AM
My photographic memory's failing me. Did the ninja girl who tried to off Dredd in 'The Art Of Geomancy' - revenge thing for Stan Lee taking a kicking, John Burns art, Alan Grant script I believe - have a name?

What was the name of the old professor guy and his nephew or whatever in the old Marvel Godzilla comic? The internet is unsurprisingly useless and my own copy of Essential Godzilla is on another continent.

Cheers!

FOUR SONGS TO SAVE THE NIGHT!

Next Saturday at the Cross Kings in Kings Cross, we're dancing it up Bill Savage style - and YOU could be the DJ! More details at the link, but I'll be on the decks for my four-song share - LEARN THE SECRETS OF THE INFINI-POWER!

Not strictly connected to 2000AD but there is the Bill Savage thing and it'll be a good time if you like dancing and fun. ALL SQUAXX WELCOME! 8 'till late.

Off Topic / eBuyer is eBollocks
15 May, 2008, 08:20:40 PM
Just got a new TV hem-hem 'delivered' from eBuyer, which means I've spent the whole day at home waiting for a doorbell which never rang. According to the tracking information that I managed to chase up, delivery failed at a quarter to one - the doorbell didn't ring, there was no phone call and not even an email to inform me of what was happening.

So don't use eBuyer. Any consumer vengeance anyone else wants to take? Bad word of mouth is the only weapon we have in this capitalist dystopia.

I was on Resonance FM and the above-mentioned show discussing the Ray Bradbury story 'A Sound Of Thunder'. Over the course of an hour, you hear Eli Sessions' magnificent reading of the story followed by Marc Sinker attempting to interrupt my droning, burbling voice, like that of a station announcer, as I desperately attempt to craft some sort of salient point in between a barrage of 'urrrrr's and 'you know's that threaten to stray beyond inarticulacy and into outright parody.

However, we do talk about several old Alan Moore Time Twisters... (At least I think they were his. I may have credited him with one of Hebden's.)

Help! / Early Frendz storyline help
14 April, 2008, 05:22:46 PM
I remember Dredd busting a club that ate endangered species in one of the early Nero Narcos appearances - the story had Vitus Dance in it, Ezquerra art. Does anyone remember the name of the club?

Cheers,
Al

Help! / Back Progs required
27 May, 2006, 09:14:11 AM
A friend of mine needs progs featuring the Clown, or Clown II or any of the Atavars. I'm willing to pay cover price for these issues from total strangers - that said, if anyone wants more and wants to talk to me about it, and I know them, I'll haggle up like some kind of fiend in private.

I have no idea if The Clown is still insanely expensive -- this is for a friend who was deprived of thrills as a child. And dammit, he could be a squaxx again. Help meeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Help! / Mega Drugs Wanted
21 April, 2006, 05:28:56 AM
I could use a list of Mega-City Drugs for a story I'm in the middle of. Can anyone give me a quick list? I've got Zzizz and old comics but after that I'm stuck... sugar and coffee too I suppose, but I'm really after stupidly named invented drugs...

Cheers!

Because you could be of great help to me if you do, and if you've got time to scan the Rogue Trooper minicomic in and send me the scans... I would owe you karmically! And possibly beerically as well!

Links / Beat Girl Comics Attic up and running again...
27 February, 2006, 06:31:04 PM
Apologies to anyone who cared even slightly - The Image Hosting has been kicked to the curb like a beeeeyotch and now Photobucket are hosting my stuff in their place.

All of Beatniks-A-Go-Go is now up, with some extra online content and also the same parade of ancient small-press work from the nineties.

Help! / Some facts about an old Dredd character needed...
18 February, 2006, 10:48:13 AM
Some questions for knowledgable squaxx:

1. What radio station was Cool Johnny Cool on?
2. Who was the guy who was given to Max Normal as a gambling debt when he won his nightclub in a rigged shuggy game?
3. Is Cool Johnny Cool still alive?

Cheers!

Off Topic / Judge Dredd on Jeremy Vine?
18 January, 2006, 06:18:37 PM
Apparently some commentator is about to come on Radio 2 saying that the Jury has had its day and everything should be decided BY A JUDGE.

Although Jeremy Vine is rarely worth listening to, so it probably won't be as exciting as all that. Just a ranting Daily Mailer followed by a bunch of Disgusted-From-Kent callers backing him ALL THE WAY against the PEEEDO SCUM.

Help! / Any German speakers in the house?
12 January, 2006, 03:19:54 AM
I need some phrases translated into the German lingo...

"It is too bad. The element of surprise is lost."
"We can still kill them both."
"I understand German, you know."
"Those tattoos are badly drawn and they don't compensate for your tiny genitals."
"One at a time or all together, you sons of prostitute circus dogs."

All help gratefully appreciated. Cheers!
