Creative Common / April Script Writing Frenzy
10 March, 2011, 05:07:47 PM
For anyone out there who took part in the National Novel Writing Competition last year, just had an e-mail saying that there's one coming up in April for script writers of any kind, including comic writers. More details here http://www.scriptfrenzy.org/ - looks fun!

Creative Common / Writer Seeking Artist!
02 November, 2010, 08:14:31 PM
Hi all :-)

I've an editor interested in a couple of scripts I've written, and I've said I'll help try to source an artist for them, as he has a lot of other plates spinning at the moment. I've noticed how many great artists post their work here, so was wondering if anyone was willing to have a crack at two eleven-page scripts, both horror pieces, one set in the modern day and one with a sci fi setting?

Anyone interested in more details, please PM me. Thanks!

Creative Common / How Do I Go About Finding An Artist?
12 January, 2010, 09:09:20 AM
Hi all!

I've had a prose script accepted for the new Starscape Online Magazine (see here http://2000adonline.com/forum/index.php/topic,27153.0.html) and I'm wanting to find someone to provide a few illustrations for it - about two or three pages worth, from what the editor has suggested to me. Only problem is, I'm not really sure how to go about finding an artist. Can anyone give me any advice?

Thanks, guys!

Hey all.
The other half has decided that she doesn't like selling stuff as much as me, so I've been banished into the wilderness to trade alone. Lots of Dredd stuff up, with plenty more 2000ad and related things to follow. Please have a look!

Books & Comics / Spider-Man: Maximum Carnage
24 May, 2009, 01:04:56 PM
The central library where I live has had a massive chunk of Lottery funding awarded to it, and one of the greatest things about this is that they've radically overhauled their graphic novel section, getting in tons and tons of books. On the good side, I got The Authority: Kev out of there. On the less good side, I got the above.

I was really looking forward to reading it - I love Venom and Carnage and the fact that it's a pretty big edition meant that there'd be a lot of story to sink my teeth into. Or so I thought.

I don't suppose I was expecting a big philosophical work or anything, but it was almost offensively simplistic, with no substance beyond a series of punch-ups. I tell you, it made me apperciate Dredd epics a whole lot more. Anybody else out there wish to agree or disagree?

Classifieds / Further Ebay Stuff For Sale!
13 May, 2009, 08:20:38 PM
Hey all! Been having another clear-out, and got a bunch of 2000ad stuff and related graphic novels on there, also got the fantastic read "Judge Dredd: The Final Cut." If you haven't read anything by him yet, believe me, Matthew Smith is just as good a writer as he is an editor. Anyway, the link is below:
