I'm from Greenock too (grew up in Larkfield area) and can completely agree it's a total and utter f***ing shit hole. I'd nuke it given half a chance.

[Journey]

Had a quick blast on Journey (PS3) the other day.

Bit of a 'meh', really.

Gorgeous visuals, but tbh it's more of an interactive screensaver than a game - little in the way of challenge or excitement.

If there was actually something to get your teeth into - perhaps some form of combat or puzzles - it'd be something special. As it is, it's just a bit dull.

Personally I loved Journey though I appreciate it was more of an emotional, umm, journey than a typical game. It's really dividing gamers between love and hate.

I suspect they just took some Avatar footage of Worthington and overlaid a different background on the green screen.

I don't even want to think about a time when Pratchett's gone. A new Discworld is a yearly highlight and more importantly than that he's a great person who'll be a true loss to the world.

I was at a gig at the Cathouse in Glasgow. There's a lassie at the bar showing off her new Nirvana t-shirt to her friend. It has Kurt Cobain's face on it with "1967 - 1994" and she's talking about how he's a great loss who'll never be replaced. Then she asks her friend, "When are they touring again?" Dear Lord...

Loved Audition - it's in my horror top ten. The scene where she's waiting for the phone to ring and the bag in the background jerks to life gets me every time.

Visitor Q - how can a film so disturbing also be so funny? The bit where the father is doing You Know What in the bath is hysterical and yet so, so sick. This is the film that confirmed I'm going to Hell.

Excuse my rudeness - joined a few weeks ago but didn't start one of these threads because... umm... my fingers temporarily revolted?

Anyway, I'm Gordy and I'm your typical rough and rugged Scotsman who spends more time drinking than working and will deep-fry anything that can't outrun me.

Been a huge comics fan all my life, starting with The Beano, Dandy etc, then onto Our Wullie and The Broons, then 2000AD and the Meg. Preacher was my gateway into the American side of the business. I stupidly cancelled my subscription to 2000AD when unemployment struck but now I'm back in the warm bosom of Thargy and co.

As well as a fan I'm trying to become a comics writer. I've self-published my debut No More Heroes and did a couple of shorts for upcoming anthologies. No-one's told me to piss off and leave the industry alone so I'm taking that as a win.
