World's Largest Cash Prize for a Short Screenplay
FINAL DEADLINE November 15th at 11:59pm PST

The BlueCat Screenplay Competition awards the world's largest cash prize for best short screenplay: $10,000, with three finalists each receiving a cash prize of $1,500.

In keeping with our longstanding tradition, every screenplay will receive one written analysis.

ENTRY FEES: $60 for short screenplays, $70 for feature length screenplays. Students will be eligible to submit their short screenplay at a discounted $35 rate for the duration of the competition.

Short screenplays must be between 5 and 40 pages in length.

Since 1998, the BlueCat Screenplay Competition has provided a community for the unknown screenwriter to develop their work, giving undiscovered talent a path to professional success.

Recent achievements by BlueCat Alumni include:

2014 BlueCat Winner HF Crum has signed with manager Michelle Knudsen at MXN. Knudsen co-produced Jason Bateman's "Bad Words" and also represents screenwriting team Yana Gorskaya & Maia Rossini, who are currently writing a film for FOX and director Paul Feig.  Crum's "3 Faces of Hunger & Thirst" won Best Feature Screenplay at the 2014 Slamdance Screenplay Competition, as well as being selected as one of nine screenwriters for the 2014 IFC Lab.
