General / Room For A Sequel
23 August, 2002, 04:20:33 AM
There's always strips, good or rubbish, that never feel properly wrapped-up. Those that could do with a sequel, even if only a climactic one-off episode for the sake of closure. Halo Jones is the obvious candidate, (Well, duh!) But which would you want to see finished off once and for all, story-wise? Feel free to include any Dredd continuity. (e.g. The guy with the skull in Prog 1277, etc)

I'd go for Blackhawk, Black Light, Glimmer Rats, Luke Kirby, Shakara, Tao De Moto, Vanguard and Witch World. Not all popular choices, for sure. But the endings drive me up the wall.

Under section 1 of the Malicious Communications Act 1998 it is an offence to send an indecent, offensive or threatening letter, electronic communication or other article to another person, and under section 43 Telecommunications Act 1984 it is a similar offence to send a telephone message/ electronic text communication which is indecent, offensive or threatening. Both offences are punishable with up to six months imprisonment and/or a fine.

Sam(antha) Slade?

Imagine Sam having a daughter, a real chip off the old block, who inherits her fathers business. (Inheriting Hoagy and Stogie into the bargain much to Sam's relief.)

Would there be any chance of such a strip? Was it ever considered? And why not?

It'd have to be written by John Wagner and drawn by Gibson of course. Wagner could exercise his chuckle muscles and Gibson gets to draw another gorgeous female.

(It might even destroy all memory of Millar & Casanovas' failed revamp.)

"Minority Report" was a book by Philip K. Dick, I'm afraid. (Other movie adaptions of his stuff include Blade Runner and Total Recall.)

First you need an image, something appropriate to your username on the site.
It's got to be done as a 32x32 sized .GIF image file.
If you can't make one, ask on the message board for a volunteer to sort you out one. All .GIFS then get sent by email to...

binaries@2000adoline.com

...and Wake will store it. Once it's stored you can put it for the message boards by going to the chatroom and doing this. In the box where you type stuff, write...

/icon nameofimage

(nameofimage = the title of your .GIF file )

Suggestions / Art Book
25 June, 2002, 06:12:32 PM
With the all the hoo-hah about reprints, lost films and owners of original art, etc, I wonder...

Would it be a good viable thing to produce a full colour book of the VERY BEST of all the pin-ups, covers, posters (or even just panels) that have graced 2000AD over the years, unsullied by strap-lines and speech balloons? A few pages were done like that in one of the old 'Best Of' Specials.

It wouldn't have to be a ?100 coffee-table monster, just a large format paperback. Does anybody have a particular favourite piece of art, the sort that makes you think "Hot damn, wish that was framed over the fireplace!"

(We'll take "Gaze into the fist of Dredd" as read.)
