I like how restrained that colour job is, lots of muted washes, but is it so restrained as to be effectively pointless?

Meanwhile, the cover artist struggles with scale.  Maybe it's an homage to McMahon-style boots, extended to gun and buckle.  Maybe.

The badge, buckle and gun definitely looks too big. Especially the buckle, almost looking like a bumper. Hopefully this isn't what they use as a cover for the tpb later on.

I think the colours looks great. It doesn't take away from the art and still looks really great! And I think bloc mania will start to look richer once the fighting starts, since the colours in the FCBD IDW classic DREDD made outstanding use of light so hopefully this one will too! Can't wait to see what the a-bombs will look like when they hit  :D

The FCBD can be found for free here if you want to read it http://www.comixology.com/Judge-Dredd-FCBD-Special/digital-comic/42215.

Beware of some Walter the wobot material in the end of the fcbd book ;)

A bit missleading title perhaps but anyways: My problem is due to the spine of a couple of my DREDD TPBs.

In some of the books the glue looks like it's loosened a bit, and the last 20 or so pages looks more stuck to the back of the book instead of the spine. Also looks like there's a binding holding the pages together.

The pages still feel sturdy, I don't they'll come off any time soon, but still I got to ask if this is something anyone else has come across? Any need for me to worry more pages becomes like that, or that they'll fall of in time?

Any suggestions on what can be done to fix (besides say buy new ones) or prevent this from happening?

Books & Comics / IDW's classic Dredd

A preview for #1 that's out this 10th http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=preview&id=17198

I love the colouring and I can't wait to see how it works with Carlos' art!

By the way, any insight on how the Dr Who IDW classics works? Those published in same order as the orginal continuity?

Been thinking about this since they stared of with Judge Death followed by Bloc war/Apocalypse war. I figure/hope that robot wars, cursed Earth, day the law died, judge child, un-american grafitti and Death lives also get's coloured.

Also. Any coloured Dr Who that got re-published in the classics or re-coloured? Would love a proper Chopper run ending with Song of the surfer (in it's painted glory of course).

Trifecta will be a hardcover edition.

Cool. Been buying quite a lot of those lately (DC and Vertigo)!

HC's collecting Tour of duty: Backslash & Mega city justice or for example Day of chaos: Fourth fraction + Endgame would look lovely on the shelf!

The whole continuity issue is more noticeable in the prog and meg at the moment due to the fallout from DoC - certainly the last three Dredd stories in the prog have all been tied to it, so any new reader jumping on board right now is going to wonder what's going on.

America, Origins, Tour of Duty (Backslash & Mega City Justice) and Day of Chaos (Fourth faction & End game) can't be recommended enough  :)

Also. IDW will also start publishing a re-coloured Bloc Mania and Apocalypse War (The events that lead into DoC.) in July. I'm really thrilled for that one, especially if this one http://www.comixology.com/Judge-Dredd-FCBD-Special/digital-comic/DIG004604 is an indication of the quality of it.

If remember right, it's said in the latest 2000AD prog that Case files 22 will be released in March 2014 in some reply to a reader question.

John Wagner rather cryptically said at LSCC that at the end of Dark Justice "Dredd might not win..."

It's been a while since he did, and the ride never been better. So that's good if true ;)

Alan talked about how he would love to kill off Anderson at the LSCC :o

Blimey!  Maybe he'd consider writing some interesting stories about her instead?  He's more than capable.

I fear he'd do it with, as Douglas Wolk puts it, his: "I've been reading some interesting books lately--let me tell you about them!" tendencies".

I wish he'd show more and tell less. I'd love if she could have a moment like for example Dredd's "Pretty much the same" in the end of Origin or something.

Something little as that, but shows/does much. For example the end of stone voices, when Anderson looks into her mirror image. Why not leave it to that, after she said "I'v seen worse", and just let her stand there instead of 5 captions discribing that she's feeling old and tired (which the art is better at telling).

Really hope Wagner can give her that. Maybe if Death & c/o are done there could be some little moment  between Cass and Joe, say for example that she finally told a good joke and Dredd gave little hint at a smile or something. Similar to Dredd's "We're your family now" to Beeny, a small but good moment.

Grant could then retire her with some "inspired" captions about "Death can die" or something else rich to a montage of Corey and the russian she fell in love with in Shamballa. (hopefully not some death scene with jesus on a cross and/or other martyr imagery, for reasons never again shown or heard about in the main Dredd story.).

QuoteAnyone else who get's the feeling things wont end well for her? Think Wagner has said some things about Dark Justice that goes in that direction. Last time Wagner wrote her, she went into a coma right?

What has Wagner said about things going in direction? I haven't read anything to that regard (not saying your wrong I just haven't heard anything about this)

Seriously sorry for that. I was soo/too sure that I had read something somewhere, but must have just been some idea I got or theory I read around the time I first heard the title "Dark justice" last year. Think it was something in line with Anderson vs Dredd.

But I really do hope Wagner have something up his sleeve for her. The Dredd film really made wish for something more done with her character, just as John been doing Dredd since origins till Day of chaos.

Since exiting her coma, Anderson is still dealing with her increasing age; she is now almost fifty, and since being a Psi stops her from using the drugs and treatments that keep aging Street Judges like Dredd active, she knows she will eventually be unable to do her job.

It's probably nothing to take too seriously then. Especially if she's only around her 40, 50s. Then it's just a line or two around her face. Thing is that I was almost hoping that she'd turned a bit gray.

And age can certainly have a different impact from person to person, especially those with a good life style. Iggy Pop comes to mind, who looked like 50 when he was 30, but he still looks like it thanks to a steady mix of a good looking woman, red wine and yoga ;)

Anyone else who get's the feeling things wont end well for her? Think Wagner has said some things about Dark Justice that goes in that direction. Last time Wagner wrote her, she went into a coma right?

I got Fire Emblem today.  I'm itching to play it right now, but I know if I start now, I'll be playing it until it's time to go to work, and I need to sleep sometime!!

I've played through the intro, and it's already a lot of fun, even though the majority of stuff hasn't been unlocked yet.  It's just like the previous Fire Emblem games so far, just a different story and a few tweaks to the mechanics.  I've yet to see how this 'character bonding' thing pans out.

I got Fire Emblem Sacred stones on my 3DS (through the ambassador prog), should I play that before I go for the new Fire emblem? Any reason story wise?

Anyone else who's excited for this?

From the CBR article "In terms of other interesting stuff coming up, John Wagner is returning to "Judge Dredd" for his first series since "Day of Chaos" ended in "2000 AD." That's prog 1837 in June."

Must be Dark Justice right  :P

My understanding is its a five parter with Dave Taylor on art. I could be wrong there but that was my take on the info we have.

Okay thanks. Can't wait till Death makes a return :)

Really wonder when Dark justice will begin. It's said to have both Anderson, Dredd and Death and the dark judges if I'm not wrong?

Hope it has something interesting up it's sleeve for Anderson, she deserves that since the film.
Wagners writing, so I expect it to be less tepid than the last few Grant series with the character.

I wonder if Anderson's reaction to Dredd in The pits is any indication of what to come? Her thoughts of "Man is a machine producing shit" followed by that look on her face, I wonder if she's losing her faith in humanity (just as she did with the justice system itself). If handled as well as Origins, ToD and DoC then I can't seriously wait what's in store for PJ Maybe, Death, Dark Judges, Anderson and Dredd :D
