Inspired by a recent phonecall from Dr X after he tried to run me down at Charing cross I'm going to give our annual pantomime another go. Who's in? We can then in-out-shake it all about and cancel until March later on.

I suggest an evening in December in Slouch on Bath street

Games / Dark Souls 3 - Git Gud!

So the reviews for the game that absolutely hates you are out today and are pretty positive/great, anyone else looking forward to it?

I only played the first and gave up quite sharpish but I don't think I really understood why I was dying so much or the games mechanics. However this all clicked with Bloodborne which was my game of 2015 so this is day 1 for me. I'm off all next week with the kids and we're all hyped for this, anyone else gonna praise the sun or are you all busy playing candy-crush?

Sequel to one of my fave games ever has already reached its target of $2 million in 8.5 hours and I've still to give them my £20 come pay day. Cannae wait to get back in the forklift, play outrun, collect toys, arm wrestle, play darts, hang about the docks looking for sailors, gamble, fight, etc.

Got this last week so surprised to find no reviews yet.

Think this has been the best in a while. Doesn't get bogged down with loads of smarty pants references* and just gets on with telling a rollicking good adventure with loads of crazy shit for Mr O'neill to draw in big fat spash pages.

*still had to check a few things on google but that's part of the fun & education, just not on every single panel mind.

Off Topic / Isn't it great having balls?
01 September, 2013, 06:44:54 PM
No it isnt. They dangle about down there just asking to be kicked.

I twisted one of em when I was about 16 and couldnae walk for 3 days, by far and away the most excruciating pain I have ever had.

And only last week I sat on one for the first time ever so now they have found a new way to torment me.

Do you ever wish there was an alternative to having balls?

Looks like its happening again with an announcement due tomorrow...

http://www.glasgowcomiccon.com/

TBH I hope they have a new venue as nice as the church is it was mobbed last year and splitting it into 2 separate buildings was a bit of a pain.

There's also this but not sure if its aimed more at tv/film...

http://www.develop-online.net/press-releases/93733/MCM-Scotland-Comic-Con-2013

I was at some scifi thingy at SECC a few years ago and the highlight was meeting Archie Gemmill. Make of that what you will.

And even if you don't fancy it then there's always beer.

Aye I know it seems ages away but we're pretty crap at sorting shit out.

Thought I'd punt this idea before everyone has plans.

So who's with me?

And as a bonus incentive/bug bear as Bond would say "Shecret Shanta"?

Anyone else up for this? I'll prob get tickets for both days.

http://www.glasgowcomiccon.com/

I know there were a few interested last year but yer all pissheads so I wasnt surprised to find you at the pub instead.

Last years seemed to be aimed at small press with lots of stalls and discussions. But I dont care about that as I'm only there to get sketches/comics and make an arse of myself by acting like a complete fanboy.

And if getting rat arsed a chat afterwards is on the cards even better

Games / Deadly Premonition - 360
31 October, 2010, 11:58:02 AM
Well this weekend saw the launch of the latest Star Wars game and Fable 3 on 360 so obviously rather than choose I went with the David Lynch inspired budget title Deadly Premonition.

Its a Japanese open world horror game inspired by twin peaks.

The graphics look like an early PS2 game and the controls are horribly unintuitive. The driving takes an age and the car sounds like a hair dryer on its last legs.

The maps terrible as well and it takes an age to figure out how to get from A to B.

You have to eat and sleep, If you dont launder your clothes then flies buzz about you and your wages get docked for being a smelly agent.

The music sounds a bit porny as well.

I fucking LOVE it!

The characters and plot really make this game, the FBI agent you control is nuts for a start. He talks to his imaginary sidekick Zach (you) through an imaginary ear piece. He's also obsessed with 80's B movies.
I've had my eye on this for ages and picked it up for £18.00 in Asda.

Not for everyone but it is a bit different and has a real cult feel to it.

Off Topic / What music do you want at your funeral?
20 August, 2010, 10:04:22 AM
Bit morbid I know but I had to help decide this a while back and it made me think what would I want at the end. If ye don't plan ahead then it might end up the birdy song. Sooo....

Coffin carried into crematorium – Star Wars Imperial March – Even if I live to 100 I want this.

Bit in the middle after everyone's been told how great I was – The Pogues Sally MacLennane

Coffin disappears and everyone shuffles out to the pub – Moonlight Sonata for maximum weepiness.

So that's my choices and I have it written down just to be sure folks know whats what. Anyone else consider this or is it just me?
