Title: Prog contents
Post by: revis84 on 13 September, 2012, 03:08:20 PM
Being a new reader to the prog I just want to ask if the contents (as in 4 stories) are always the same or if it changes every other issue? and do the future shocks still make it in?

The stories chance when they end, but they usually stagger. Once or twice a year there will be a  'jumping on' point, where most or all of the strips are on their first parts. And, yes, Future Shocks still exist.

Do they make it in to the progs regularly?

Yes they do. There are usually five stories running at any one time in the prog, the first episode of Brass Sun is double length in prog 1800. When a series has come to an end, there are often a few one-off Future Shocks or Terror Tales and, more recently, three part Tharg's 3rillers to bridge the gap until the next series starts.

Five stories per prog is the norm.... and there's actually a Future Shock in prog 1801. Well, a Terror Tale which is near enough

It's a f*cking brilliant one as well

I think thse one-shots are often used to fill scheduling gaps. In addition to Future Shocks we also get 'Tharg's Terror Tales' (horror themed, obviously). Can't remember last time we had a 'Tharg's Time Twisters', but I guess if a good time travel story came along they'd dust off the title.

Looking forward to that then. I've always preferred Terror Tales to Future Shocks anyway.

I take it TT are straight forward horror stories as opposed to FS twist endings?

I think Terror Tales are generally just more super-natural in bent. My recollection is most of them have twist endings as well.

subs Saturday (unless you've got a shit postie like me), newsagent shelves Wednesday. But it's generally announced what strips are coming up.
