Yeah much like Titans continuation if Johnny Red seems to have disappeared (well last time I checked). Sigh Titan why do you tease us so!

The Johnny Red thing is definitely happening — I was told I couldn't have the gig lettering it. :-(

Cheers

Jim

really, I've had an email this weekend saying the next volume was cancelled.  :(

The Johnny Red Jim was refering to is a new Garth Ennis written mini from Titan (8 issues I've recently learnt)not the continuation of the reprints of the Battle stuff. So silver lining and all that!

Yeah can't rule it out as a couple of things from Titan I'd given up on have eventually turned up. Others of course have disappeared without a trace.

I'm hoping the soon(ish) Johnny Red mini inspires more Battle releases (inc of course John Cooper's J Red volumes long missing) and from there the door might be opened again? All a bit wishful but heuy ho.

Increasingly these days I'm becoming less and less interested in comic books moving to the big or small screen. This tantalising teasin however has peaked my interest.

http://www.bleedingcool.com/2015/03/07/dark-horses-resident-alien-comic-to-be-a-tv-series/

Not only cos this will mean my much loved comics will become stratospherically valuable as people who were fool enough not to get onboard with this great series of mini-series clammor to catch up, but more realistically cos this could really work.

One to watch.

Never has the trivial news of letter quantities brought so much joy. And not only cos Mr Link is one of my favourite posters here.

Well there's a point were attention to detail becomes labourious fiddliness - for me this would have crossed that line. I'm so glad that I can live vicariously though someone not as cackhanded as me.

Beautiful.

Wait, Hinterkind's been cancelled?  When was that announced?

The May solicitations alas

QuoteHINTERKIND #18

Written by IAN EDGINTON

Art by FRANCESCO TRIFOGLI

Cover by MARGUERITE SAUVAGE

On sale MAY 6 • 32 pg, FC, $2.99 US • MATURE READERS • FINAL ISSUE

The west coast is at war and the day of the dragon is at hand. Old enemies are confronted and new alliances forged. It could be the end of everything or a new beginning for both human and Hinterkind. The fate of the green world rests on the shoulders of Prosper Monday, dragon rider.

There is hope. I was speaking to Ian Edlington at Thought Bubble in November and he said he had loads planed and as it was creator owned he could move it if DC did cancel it. So fingers crossed.

More comics.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes 4 is part of a six issue mini, which means I'll not drop it and at least it'll get a re-read before getting dispatched. Which is just what 12th Doctor Who 1 - 5 needs as I've been losing a grip with this one over the last couple of months. I suspect re-read will straighten all that though. 11th Doctor Who 9 shows quite wonderfully who this series needs no such thing to convince me its great, as well its great.

Winter World 0 should have been longer, looking forward to the mini in afew months now. Hinterkind 16 makes me think some plot points may be rushed as this title heads towards the end of its Vertigo run. Really hope it doesn't screw up too much and that Edginton can find a new home for the series. Sex 20 is another great part of this series I hope last out and not shoot its bolt too soon.

They're Not Like Us 3 is the third issue and surely the third straight best in haul. The only bad thing about this title is it makes me miss Nowhere Men all the more

Colin, just bought an O'Neill page from a former forum member and managed to reunite those two pages. Couldn't resist. I actually shed a pathetic manly tear of utter joy when I put them together for maybe the first time since the early 80's.

Yeah heard about that and can imagine the tear. I shed one of myself. Though that one was of bitter frustrated jealously... I'm not a big man!

Yeah Kenya is 5 books and I think you are right about the second cycle from what I've been able to dig out. I think Cinebook have all of Kenya out now, or will ahve soon. No doubt Numibia will be along shortly?

Prog / Re: Prog 1921 - Fight to the Fiendish
07 March, 2015, 02:14:14 PM
By and large as you were really. Dark Justice finishes in fairly predictable fashion. I think it will make a solid read when read as one, but nowt spectacular. As with Survival Geeks, its so okay, nowt more. Both look pretty.

The rest of the Prog also looks very pretty but these are all winners. Another fantastic opening for a 3riller, 1% Eddie Robson certainly seems one to watch and with INJ Culbard on art this is blindin'

As are The Order and Savage as both hurtle towards their respective conclusions in fantastic form. These two series have been the real highlight of the current line-up.

Great Prog.

News / Re: Dan Dare collected, and new Bad Company
07 March, 2015, 02:08:37 PM
Yeah colour me excited about more Bad Company. Of course slightly sad now that it will be without Brett Ewins but as a reader I'm sure I'll get past that.

Been excited about the Dan Dare stuff, particularly as Keith (I think it was) confirmed the colour spreads will be retained.

New Fabien Vehlmann series coming in July, Marquis of Anon, I look forward to any books by this author.

Still not read Green Manor, is it good - well I assume youi reckon so! Looks like he's done something with Sean Philips - interested to see that...

Ha! Love the way you say you can't can't compete, show us some lovely shelves and nice neat collections - AND subtly stick all that glorious original art you own in the background, including those beautiful O'Neill Nemesis pages.

You whip our asses!

Just finished the first book of Leo's (with Rodolphe) Kenya and well its very very good. Not at all dissimilar in tone to his Aldebaran books, which of course shouldn't be a surprise and is about as big a compliment as I can think of.

Another Cinebook winner!
