Bloody hell!

This is getting ridiculous!!!

Awesome stuff.

Thanks one and all!

Here's the same thing with much nicer rendering: 3D motion blurring... It looks almost identical to the first version, but it took ten times as long to render. If I have to suffer through that then so do you.

The file is about 1.3mb (twice the size of the previous version).

Cheers,
Mike

That's great Mike - shame the motion blur takes so long...

Maybe you could try reducing the shutter to reduce the blur slightly and see if there are options to reduce the samples used? I've never used C4D but most programmes let you reduce the quality to speed it up.

I really appreciate seeing head of Tharg.

Thanks for acting on my request. Good show. I owe you one, there.

BTW, the Justice City One and both animations of Marlon 'Chopper' Shakespeare flying towards me at break neck speed is a sight to behold.

Mind you.........

Could you possibly mix those with soud samples?

I mean with the Judge Jet and Marlon whooshing towards you.

With the first, I would imagine the sound of a Harrier Jump Jet taking off.

With the second, I would imagine the sound of mega city babble and traffic. The sound of wind blowing fast at the high alttitudes and then whoosh with some sort of doppler effect.

I got some movie sound effects CD's. ( For radio plays.) I could ripp some sound samples off for you, though I'm not sure if vailating copyrigth protections. Then again, I guess thats what the CD is meant for.

 Being used.

Mike Carroll

Thanks for the link, ThryllSeekyr!

You're right - sound makes a huge difference, even to tiny clips like this! I usually find sound harder to get right than graphics, which is why I always leave it to the end!

But I'll try to set aside some time to add sound to these clips (I might even steal some Mega-City One sound effects from the Big Finish CDs!)

Cheers,
Mike

A very short clip of the Blitzspear in action...

I'm assuming you ddi slow it down to showcase it's appearance.

I have always imagined the old Bliztspear to be very swift.

Thanks guys!

Thryllseekyr, you're right. The Blitzspear should be a lot faster, but that was about as fast as I could get it and still have it visible: the explosion in the background was culled many years back from a movie (stolen frame-by-frame using my DVD software's "capture a single frame very slowly" function). If I'd chosen to use a different background, I could have moved the camera along with the Blitzspear (like I did with the Chopper clip).

I'm going to have a go at creating some Termight-like tunnels along which the Blitzspear can travel at a great speed - should be fun!

Cheers,
Mike

Now we know why it takes so long between Harry Potter novels.  You are that young person's author, aren't you? ; >
