Help! / Re: Help me Hive Mind, you're my only hope...

Sorry... Sueing is probably the wrong word. Lots of people have said I should persue a no win no fee option because they are as much in the dark as I am about how to proceed. I have voiced my concerns to people in our council and their reaction is to tut, agree and offer no help at all. I also have the issue that as my mother is fully in charge of her faculties  it would be HER who will have to start any complaint. And I know my mother She is somewhat... paranoid. Not mental health need action paranoid but certainly of the "Don't complain or they will put you on a list and you'll get worse treatment!" Paranoid. I was just asking to see if anyone has complained about their Doctors surgery and if they thought it was worth it.

That's terrible. Sometimes it takes me that long to send a complaint e mail.

Help! / Re: Help me Hive Mind, you're my only hope...

I won't go into details but... well I recently found out that my mother was incorrectly diagnosed with type 2 diabetes when actually she was type 1. This has been the main cause of her legs never healing from ulcerations. Now she has been properly treated they have almost returned to normal for the first time in 10 years. I want (If I can get mother to give permission) that I should seek to take legal action against our GP practice who's laziness and incompetence is the main cause. Has anyone ever had to sue the NHS? How dose one go about doing so? Is it worth it? I'm not after money I want my GP surgery investigated. My mother could have lost her sight or her limbs. It's disgusting and I don't think they should get away with this.

I have a question that I think might be impossible to answer. I'm only pestering you fine folks with it because without going into too much detail my phone upgrade is being held hostage to it. (And no it has nothing to do with mobile phones) My web searches have proved fruitless.

A friend of mine is looking to attend a convention. It must meet the following parameters.

Should be scheduled for next year to allow for costuming.

Must be multi Media.

Cannot be Redemption because he had an argument with the committee and although all those committee members no longer are involved he won't have anything to do with them. (Don't ask... just... don't!)

Cannot be too far from where he lives (On the coast of Essex)

Hotel must have disabled access.

Any ideas?

Help! / Web Cam woes
27 July, 2023, 03:53:45 PM
I bought (For the second time) a Logitech Streamcam in the last Amazon sale. I've connected it up but.... there is no indication that it's working. Website claims that as soon as it's connected to the PC it should download it's drivers and be ready to work but. nothing. Have I got another duff one ? Any suggestions as to how to get it to work? I already installed the softwear from Logitechs own site and it can't detect the camera either.... am I doind/ not doing something wrong? I hate to have to send it back again.

Food for thought. When I work out how to do it I might show examples and ask for opinions.

the Mistry deepens. I went to top up the bowl. Only to find out that it has now been badly cracked and cannot hold water. I also found the pipe from the pump in the grass. It has been shortened at both ends and "chewed". So it isn't theft but vandalism.

I am V angry. Some person has stolen the water pump and solar power panel from my water feature. I haven't finished paying for it yet. I installed it for the local wildlife and some scrot has wrecked it.

The trouble with biscuits (now I am old and more sophisticated  ) is the cheap and thus over-sweet chocolate they use. I loath cheap chocolate.

I bought my cat expensive delivered to the door cat food as it claims to be fresh and made of actual meat (as opposed to "regular" cat food.) Dorian is getting more & more fussy and I am concerned about his health. The result? After eating three of the pouched he refused to touch it ever again.

Off Topic / Re: The Implications Of AI Art.
05 June, 2023, 02:39:52 PM
I'm in two minds with AI. Is it a potential threat to the creative industry? Probably. Will it help people like me attempt something creative when we have no talent again probably. It's too early to tell. Fundamentally it might eventually prove that there is nothing unique about the humans brain once AI is sophisticated enough. That's a prospect that some people are not going to like.

on the other hand it's a long way off from perfection and some doubt that AI can ever "replace" us.

Well problem solved this time. Opened the door this afternoon to talk to them ( Because they didn't answer the door last night so I left another polite note) And there was the box of cat food on the doorstep. (Good job our door is inside a forecourt) I miss our old postie. He knew who lived where and therefore always got the address right.
