Very true, but she's feeling the strain a bit if the eyes at the bottom of page 5 are anything to go by...

Just got in from a pub lunch and thought the post droid had failed to deliver my prog today, much to my disappointment - now realised its of course a Friday not a Saturday! Duh...!

That would be great, and it would certainly make the prog stand out - can't think of any other comics/mags that have pan-galactic pricing on the cover. Can't hurt surely...

It's great when that happens - you love it the moment you see it, have to have it...and it's actually available! (Happened with me and Chris Weston's Sensitive Klegg)

Congrats on getting it - it's a great page from one of the funniest of the recent Dredd stories. Sharks with legs, proper MC1 craziness.  Almost looks better in the original black and white I think. Brings back the 70s for me too, when everything was sharks or dinosaurs!

I remember desperately hunting down those 4 progs, after reading the Cursed Earth in the Titan volumes.

I liked both stories, they're great examples of the madness of the Cursed Earth and an enjoyable satire.  Burger barons literally at war for dominance and a Colonel Sanders lookalike creating living creatures out of famous brand name characters - pure 2000ad. One story having art by McMahon and one by Bolland - two of the gods of Dredd  - also helps.

I remember when I found them at a comic mart in Kings Cross one Sunday - this was before the internet made it all so easy of course..

Jim Jing Jong what a cracking prog!

Bolland Dredd, Bolland Alpha and Bolland Slaine - on luxury paper - I think I might buy 2 copies this week!

Dredd - great opener. Real tension here (what is Dredd sweating about..?) Art, writing - faultless.

Slaine - beautiful, beautiful art but the story lacks momentum.  More needs to happen in each episode to move the story along.

Grey Area - Been a bit ambivalent about this strip in the past but I really enjoyed this opener.

Orlok - I like this strip, a good old fashioned black and white thriller.  I was, however, rather confused by this week's episode and I agree with Jimbo, it would help if Orlok looked like the same person from frame to frame.  I find it hard not to warm to a story with 'caper' in the title...which brings me to..

Strontium Dog - Really strong opener with some classic Wagner piss-taking. I parted company with the prog around the time Jonny died and he was up there, along with DR & Quinch, rivalling Dredd for my affections, so I was a bit unsure when I started reading again some years ago, and he was alive again. I've found it hard to re-connect with him.  Despite the rather grim overtones of Jonny's despair, this story seems to have all the hallmarks of a classic Stronty caper.  Can't wait for next week.

Anyone have any ideas what those funny little pellets are in Dredd's Lawgiver, as shown on the cover...?

A limited edition (signed?) print of this cover would go down very nicely indeed!

Can Tharg make this happen..?

Any excuse to show this off.

Glad that refers to the Carlos commission and not Skulmo's body...

Yep another great podcast, thanks chaps!

That Paul Chadwick piece was just amazing - totally missed that on Ebay.  Couldn't have got it anyway, so no need to kick myself - but seems a bargain at that price.  Do hope whoever bought it hangs it on the wall.

Thanks Eamonn. I'm not on the Facebook though, always resisted it...but I do get the impression that there's some comic art stuff on there I'm missing out on. Maybe contacting Carlos is enough to get me joined up..

That must be it..

Hippy and Skulmo, I noticed that back in Feb you gave some pointers (via a PM) to a board member called Stu on how you go about adding to your collection.

I also have a small collection that I'd slowly like to add a couple of pieces to.  Mainly interested in the 70s/80s black and white art but some of the more modern stuff too.  In particular how to get in touch with King Carlos for a commission or art?
