I know there's no strict definition, but I always felt that a story had to run for 25/26 episodes to really qualify as a 'Mega Epic'.

Yes you're probably right. Can any Devlin Waugh fans help me? Is there enough material for a second Waugh book in this collection - I remember there being art by Gaydos & Yeowell but would it work as a Esperanto volume? I was never sure how popular this material was having only read odd bits.

radiator

Not sure there's a big enough Esperanto-speaking audience to make it viable.

I, Cosh

We speak Esperanto in the office every morning. Unfortunately, the extent of our prowess is "hot drink?"

Sorry "seperate" not "Esperanto" volumes! Is the Yeowell stuff good fun?

Bat King

The Esperanto Volume is in the Stainless Steel Rat Steelbook Editions only I think.

If you mean the whole Chasing Herod/Reign of Frogs/Sirius Rising thing, very much no. It was certainly good and read well in a single volume, but it's relentlessly grim.

robert_ellis

Thanks - I'll track them down if they don't get reprinted.

Is the "Fingers off the triggers, sphincters unclenched" line included in the Devlin Waugh one?

Mardroid

Heh, yes. I read that line just recently in fact (working my way through the volume today. Okay, I broke off to read this week's prog...

Pretty good, by the way, but kinda nasty in places. (That's not a criticism.)

robert_ellis

Yes - it's a great volume. My only gripe would be that the Jock original art for Red Tide wasn't included. But instead there's a great Matt Smith intro & recent Sean Phillips 4 page interview. in the first episode there's a caption box "continues in page 26" - which oddly made me happy. I'm guessing this is from the original  megazine. AND DEVLIN IS ON THE SPINE! It's genius! Plus the promise of 2 more Devlin volumes
