Yes there should be a 2000ad one that features Transvision Vamp, The Fink Brothers, Shriekback etc.
Maybe even include songs by Halo

Probably more of a 'grew up with it' rather than a current reader, but Charlie Brooker has been known to slip a few obscure 2000ad references into his Guardian articles from time to time.

If we're talking fans of the 2012 Dredd film rather than the comics, I can think of a few:
Kevin Smith
Jay Baruchel
Nick Frost
Charlie Higson
Phill Jupitus
Scroobius Pip
Has anyone mentioned Sue Perkins, of 'Sue Perkins Block' fame?
Although I'm sure he'd hate to think of himself as a celebrity, Kevin Foakes (AKA DJ Food, Strictly Kev) is definitely a pretty high-profile Squaxx. As well as regularly featuring 2000AD-related items on his blog (http://www.djfood.org/djfood/) he commissioned Henry Flint to do artwork for the cover of his 2011 album The Search Engine, which also featured a track titled In Orbit Every Monday (another track, The Illectrik Hoax, was a nod to the old Milligan & McCarthy Sounds strip). Not to mention a pretty glorious collection of 2000AD artwork...
Oh, and he also got a spot in The Streets of Dan Francisco as the Strictly Kev gang

British director Peter Hewitt (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0382072/) said he was a fan of 2000ad, and was actively trying to land the Dredd film gig in the early nineties. He directed Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey, The Borrowers, Garfield and Thunderpants, so at least his Dredd film would have been funny.
Sadly, he's not the same person as Peter Howitt (//http://) - who played leather trousered ladies' man Joey Boswell in shitter than you remember eighties sitcom Bread, and went on to direct Gwyneth Paltrow in Sliding Doors for some reason. Although, prior to the invention of the internet, I thought he was.

Die Antwoord for sure; they used to be called MaxNormalTV.
The Manic Street Preachers - I remember an old interview where they bemoaned the fact that writers like Pat Mills, John Wagner and Alan Moore don't get as much recognition as 'proper' book writers. Wonder what they made of Garth Ennis's Muzak Killer?
Not that god-awful Halo James, though, as I vaguely remember the lead singer's description of Halo Jones as being something like: 'He's this cool guy who blows aliens away.'

Talking of gameshow 2000AD mentions, I appeared on the BBC's National Lottery gameshow "This Time Tomorrow" a few years back. When asked By Tess Daly what I was into, I told her comics and when she asked what sort, I actually stated "my favourite publisher is Marvel but my favourite comic is 2000AD". I won a major prize and because the show was shot 6 weeks before it went out I did a big letter to Tharg about it thinking it would go in the prog the Wednesday just before the Saturday when my show was broadcast, all you lot would enjoy seeing it get a mention as well as one of your own winning a £5k holiday and even better than all that I'd get a letter of the week if not a Squaxx Dex Thargo. Nothing! Not a mention! That's always annoyed me and still does!
Funny that, I spotted some kid wearing a knitted Dredd jumper on some kids game show, and my letter about it got printed. It didn't get letter of the week though, if that's any consolation.

Is British director Neil Marshall a fan? I just thought his movies had a 2000ad vibe to them.
Wouldn't be at all surprised.
There was a great comment from Geoff Darrow in the Future Shocks documentary that he often likes some actor/artist/musician, then finds out they are a 2000ad fan "and suddenly, it [their work] all makes perfect sense"
I was told that Ben Wheatley is a Strontium Dog fan.
Wheatley had a Dredd/2000ad image as his cover picture on Twitter, may still do, so think its safe to say he's a fan.
Both Charlie Higson and Phill Jupitus raved about the Dredd movie on Twitter when it came out, think they are both old-school fans. Directors Christopher Nolan and Joe Cornish (Adam and Joe) have cited 2000ad as an influence on their work (Attack the Block had a very 2000ad feel imo).

Yes, it'll be the same one. I interviewed him once, many years ago, and he's a big comics fan.
He and Mark Millar went to the same school, although Pat would have been a few years older than Mark.

Yeah I remember him mentioning 2000 AD when they had a couple of old Tennant Who episodes with commentaries - Halo Jones, Max Normal in Gridlock (although it's also reminiscent of the Terror Tube) and Bisley's Slaine for the look of the devil in The Satan Pit.
I think Gridlock may have been inspired by a couple of Future Shocks as well

This'll be a lot easier once Tharg's Future Shocks Volume One is out, but do you remember which Shocks may have inspired Gridlock? I can't think of any off-hand.

Yes, it'll be the same one. I interviewed him once, many years ago, and he's a big comics fan.
He and Mark Millar went to the same school, although Pat would have been a few years older than Mark.
I like to think that a version of Stewart Lee's 'at school with Richard Hammond' routine happened there for real.
