Title: Subscribers' Notebook and pen. Full of quick sketches. Charity Raffle.

This was the Subscribers free gift from last year. A 2000AD notebook and pen. The paper is rather thin and not really sketchbook quality but I thought it would be fun to collect some Dredd head doodles from creators at various events over the last year: BrumCon, The Cursed Earth signing, FCBD, Lawgiver, NICEcon, Thought Bubble and finally the 40th Festival.

I asked artists for a doodle or sketch, I gave writers the option of doing a speech bubble although some braved a sketch. So it has the following:

Signed on the cover by Brian Bolland
Ink Dredd head by Mike Collins
Pencil Dredd head Dave Taylor
Pencil Dredd head Ian Richardson
Speech bubbles by Dan Abnett and Ian Edginton
Inked Dredd by David Broughton
Inked Dredd by Ben Willsher
Inked Dredd by Ian Kennedy
Inked Dredd doodle by Ryan Brown
Pencil and Ink Dredd by John McCrea
Pencil Dredd by Staz Johnson
Pencil Dredd by Aaron Murphy, signed by Jim Alexander
Inked Dredd doodle by Grant Perkins
Inked Dredd by D'Israeli
Inked Dredd by Leigh Gallagher
Pencil Dredd by Steve Pugh
Dredd doodle and speech bubble by Alec Worley
Kano doodle and speech bubble by Peter Milligan
Tharg doodle by Matt Smith
Inked Dredd doodle by Henry Flint
Inked Dredd doodle by Dylan Teague
Pencil Dredd by David Roach (Spoilt, see below)
Mick McMahon pencil Dredd doodle with John Wagner speech bubble in sharpie
Inked Dredd doodle by Abigail Bulmer
Coloured Dredd head by Glenn Fabry
Inked Dredd by John Higgins
Dredd doddle and speech bubble by Rob Williams
Inked Dredd by Patrick Goddard
Pencil Dredd by Lee Carter
Pencil Dredd by Dave Kendall
Signed page by John Wagner
Dredd cartoon by Si Spurrier
Inked Dredd doodle by Simon Bisley
Small Punisher symbol and signature by Steve Dillon
Inked Dredd by Duncan Fegredo
Dredd cartoon by Andy Diggle
Signed page by Greg Staples
Inked Dredd doodle by Peter Doherty
Inked Dredd doodle by Ben Oliver
Inked Dredd doodle by Matt Ferguson
Small Dredd head and huge signature by Clint Langley
Dredd doodle by Frazer Irving
Small bat doodle by Mike Mignola
Inked Dredd by Tom Foster
Inked Dredd doodle by Jon Davis-Hunt
Inked Dredd doodle by Sean Phillips
Inked Dredd doodle by Simon Davis
Inked Dredd silhouette by Al Ewing
Inked Dredd by Colin MacNeil
Inked Rorschach by Dave Gibbons
Inked Nikolai Dante doodle by Simon Fraser
Zenith logo by Steve Yeowell
Beautiful full page signature by Clint Langley (again)
Speech bubble by Kek-W
Speech bubbles by Gordon Rennie and Emma Beeby
Ink and colour Dredd by Chris Weston
A blank page?
Drokk! by Michael Carroll
Inke Dredd doddle by Rufus Dayglo
Tharg doodle by David Bishop
Signed page by Robin Smith, Richard Elson & Karl Stock
Diavolo! speech bubble by Robbie Morrison
A speech bubble by Annie Parkhouse
Inked Dredd doodle by Carlos Ezquerra
Pencil Dredd head by Lee Townsend
Inked Dredd by Mark Sexton
A Drokk by Mike Dowling and on the other side of the same page
Inked Dredd doodle by PJ Holden
And then 6 blank pages if you want to get some more!

I didn't quite control this project as well as I could so there were some mistakes along the way. Notably I thought it would be a clever idea to get John Wagner to do a speech bubble coming out of the mouth of Mick McMahon's Dredd. Unfortunately he used a black sharpie and the thin paper meant that bled through and ruined David Roach's pencil sketch. Sorry, David.

Likewise PJ Holden did his Dredd on the back of Mike Dowling's page but fortunately they don't overlap
However all the editors, artists and writers did this for free and fitted it in between other paying work and I'm very grateful to them all. Anyway I'm not sure this is suitable for an auction but after showing it to some fellow Squaxx in the queues at the 40th I've decided to put it up as a raffle prize and, as ever, for Cancer Research UK.

Here are the rules:
Go to https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Megacitybookclub
The minimum allowed donation by Justgiving is £2, so it is £2 a ticket. You can of course buy more than one ticket. £10 = 5 entries and so on.
Please put Raffle in the comment and make sure you leave a name or forum handle that I will be able to identify you by if you win. If you want to be anonymous please send me a message identifying yourself.
Important, DO NOT TICK THE GIFT AID BOX because you are receiving a virtual raffle ticket in return for your donation.

The Raffle will run until Midnight on Saturday February  25th and the draw will be on the Sunday with me posting a video up on youtube.

You can see all the pages in this photobucket  album.
http://s144.photobucket.com/user/Caliban_photos/library/2000AD%20Notebook
And some of the creators with their pages here
http://s144.photobucket.com/user/Caliban_photos/library/2000AD%20Notebook/Notebook%20creators
The winner will get a CD with all the creator images on it.

I'm going to post some highlight images below as well. Some of them have to be worth £2 alone. And that's it, free postage in a well protected package. So spend the price of a cup of coffee and help a worthy cause for a chance to win an interesting 2000AD item (and the pen!)

And the academy award goes to:

the forum's very own Confused 99.
Congratulations, C99. I've messaged you the get your address.

Thanks to everyone who donated and bought tickets. The raffle raised a stonking £456 that goes straight to Cancer Research UK through Justgiving.com.

Combined with the 40th festival auctions that brings the running total raised for Cancer Research by the 2000AD community to a whopping:

£4961.51

With a bit of luck Free Comic Book Day might push us over the £5K mark at which point I really will be having a lay down with a damp prog on me forehead.

Hi

Just saw your message and have responded - as a very recent joiner to the forum I didn't know that you'd raised so much.

Thanks for running this and absolutely brilliant work on the fundraising!

Cheers!
