I'd list all the ones you need then copy and paste them on to the classifieds on this website and check every day for 2 weeks. Presume you have paypal etc to pay people even if it is just postage. if you have a load of spares already if you list those as well people might swap etc or give you the ones you want for postage if your doing the same with your spares.

If you need quite a few in the same calander year it might be easiest to look for complete years on ebay and buy that way.

Consider time v cost I.E. how much time you want to spend getting these v how much you are prepared to spend. If you work, might be worth doing a little overtime then just buying them random missed ones on ebay/direct from 2000ad shop (presume they still do back issues).

Also it's often best just to get them posted to you, I spent hours driving to collect progs when I put the early years together about 15 years ago, it always takes longer to get to places than you expect and you spend ages chatting and the days gone! It always depresses me slightly when I see whole collections from prog one to recent being sold for very little these days.

I might even follow my own advise and dig out my own box of spares to redistribute!

Classifieds / Wanted: Progs 1862 onwards

If anyone wants to part with progs 1862 (2013 issue) onwards I'm looking to buy either all 2014 if people want to sell as a year, or 1862 -as recent as possible.

Happy to collect if not to far from Newcastle Upon Tyne or pay postage plus. Happy to pay extra if their bagged. Best offers please.

Cheers Bren

There is an approximate valuation guide in the classifieds rules thread at the top of the classified section.

If you get no interest here after a few weeks and you want to sell them then ebay is the most popular method, selling in blocks of 25,50 or a 100 is a good method, selling as one collection makes them too expensive to post, if people only want some of the collection. (if you post them, they fit well in wine boxes from the supermarket etc.

If you car boot them, take any offer you get, likelyhood is you will only get one offer!

If you are going to bin them you could give them to a scout/boys brigade group or similar to take on camp, or for an art group (who will cut them up!) though perhaps not a primary school!. Children's hospitals/hospices etc won't take them due to hygiene reasons.

Small mistake, just found the other pile of spares 600-688 now available. £20 the lot (+postage if needed). or offers etc

Hi All,

I'm after prog 1722 to date (or as near to as people have). I'm now in Willington Quay, Newcastle Upon Tyne. (Not subscribing until I have read all the ones I have so far!)

Also had to rebox all my progs when i moved and found I had progs 651- 688 completely duplicated in different, incorrectly labelled, boxes! So if anyone wants them let me know. £10 the lot (+postage if needed). Would consider giving for free if for charity etc or you have a plausibly good/ heart warming/ grovelling enough reason. They have been taken out of the comic bags which I have reused.

A few points, if your in no hurry try selling the first 500 on ebay in one go but put a reserve on it. You never know your luck.
I bought the first 800 as a collection off ebay a number of years ago before their seemed to be a number of collections for sale (or a rescession) and I paid over 600 quid for it. They were all in good condition and bagged and crated, and I was all flush with a bonus!
I tried giving away a load of doubles to a kids home and to a childrens hospital but neither  of them would accept them for HEALTH AND SAFETY reasons. Though I did give them to the scouts to take on camp with them and they appreciated them.
Otherwise if you split the collection keep an eye out on this forum for vcarious wants.
