General / XENSATION Stallone Dredd 1/6 figure
« on: 21 May, 2017, 01:59:16 pm »
Does anyone else have the Xensation Dredd figure from the 1995 movie? If so do you also find it to be very poor quality and not at all like the one advertised last year?

I am hoping the VTS version that will be released in January 2018 is of better quality.

General / New Dredd TV Series
« on: 14 May, 2017, 11:37:17 am »
Fellow Dredd heads, I have a question that's been bugging me around this recent announcement of a big budget Dredd TV series. Will this be another reboot of Dredd,  his uniform, Lawmaster, Lawgiver and most importantly the actual design of The Big Meg. Or are we going to see a continuation of the 2012 movie type environment? There is a lot I love about that movie, but the environment was not one of them.

I am hoping that they move in a more futuristic direction, with better Dredd props and city visuals, but keep the utilitarian uniform. However I have a feeling Dredd himself will definitely be recast. It's been over  7 years since Karl Urban actually filmed the role and I don't believe he would still be enthused to commit to a TV SERIES after all this time. Furthermore I think Rebellion would have dropped this as a hint during their announcement as it would be a huge fan selling point to even just intimate Urban's potential interest at maybe reprising his iconic turn as the character. Also, it would seem that this is going to be more of an ensemble piece that would actually limit old stoney faces screen time. Something an actor of Urban's stature might not necessarily find attractive. WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS?

General / DREDD 2012 Sequel

Does anyone know whether there has been any further movement on the rumour around a Dredd Netflix series. Also for those subscribers in Belfast, Queen Film Theatre are doing a showing of Dredd 2012 on the 06/05/17. See you there

General / ThreeA Judge Fire & Xensation Stallone Dredd figure
« on: 15 March, 2017, 10:35:12 am »
Fellow Dredd heads does anyone have information on the potential for ThreeA figures to produce a 1/12 scale Iudge Fire to go with the other excellent Dredd and dark Judge set?

Furthermore, can anyone tell me what the current position is on the release of the 1/6 scale Xensation Stallone Dredd? I ordered mine last Sept and am still waiting! You he release date seems to constantly move back.

What is the rank structure for the Mega City 1 judges. I recall Dredd being referred to as "Senior Judge A+"  Does anyone have a canon answer? It would make sense to have more that Judge and Senior Judge.

General / Has Judge Dredd been soft Retconned?
« on: 08 January, 2017, 09:12:02 pm »
Fellow Dredd heads following on from my previous posts and the weather of Dredd knowledged shared with me I have come to ponder this question;

Given Dredd now being late in his 70s' but receiving a recent top and tail rejuv is Rebelion now quietly letting the old arthritic and slow Joe Dredd slip into quiet obscurity and let this 25 year backstory starting with the death of Judge Morphy and a "Letter to Judge Dredd",  Democaracy etc all be for nothing. I mean seriously how long could they clog this horse without the storing him. Obviously this would never do for Rebellion Dredd book sales, so the easier option to let it go.

Those more learned than me in Dredd lore have a handle on this. I would appreciate your thoughts

Is there a definitive canon answer to the actual ammo capacity of the MK one and MK Two Lawgiver?

Website and Forum / Dredds recent Rejuv
« on: 01 January, 2017, 11:33:16 am »
Fellow Dredd heads, I was pondering the recent rejuv ole Dreddie has just had. Do any of think this will drop kick any further talk within continuity of his slowing down,  it being as quick etc and put paid to any potential retirement/death as his body now alledgedly younger and fitter. I believe it is a bit of a cop out as this has been such a big part of Dredds story line for the last 20 plus years starting with the Murphs death and then one of episode of him being in the bath at his Rowdy Yates appt and his internal monologue mentioning all his aches and pains. I would really like to start an in depth discussion around this recent move on the part of Rebellion

Website and Forum / The Landraider and killdozer proper scale and interior
« on: 24 December, 2016, 02:40:45 pm »
Fellow Dredd Heads I have just reread the Cursed Earth Saga and wanted to know if there was ever a proper fan made schematic and realistic scale done for the killdozer and land raider ole Dreddie and Spikes used to get to Mega City Two. It drives me mad when you see so many different sizes drawn dependant On which artist drew the comic that week. Call me a stickler for this. I just was always wanting to know what the Justice Dept kitted the inside of those things out with. Where did the three judges and Spike sleep. Did it have a shower. Did it have a loo? Did it even have a kitchen. How the hell did you move around inside that thing? I bet Dredd and everyone else was pretty ripe being cooped up in it.

As a kid I love the whole idea of that big bloody tank, but always wondered if a fan made schematic existed. I know 200AD never printed one . Merry Xmas

I have been lucky enough to get a hold of both versions of the 1:12 scale Dredd and Lawmaster from Mesco and Threea. If like me you want to display these the Mesco set is easily openers but the Threea Dredd booster pack is not. Here is a helpful tip. Get a small paint brush and some acetone. If you careful paint around where the card joins the blister bubble with the acetone this will disprove the glue holding it to the card and enable you to take your Dredd out and display without damaging the packaging

Website and Forum / Dredd a fitness
« on: 24 December, 2016, 12:58:01 pm »
I know there have been any references to Dredd getting old and slower, but has it ever been clearly articulated how he manages to maintain his fitness and ability to still do the job of a street judge in his mid 70's? A canon explanation would really help me get to the bottom of this. Merry Xmas
