I know it's wrong to mock theese people, and I'll probably burn in hell for all eternity, but...

From their website:

Comic art is has finally become the latest Hollywood blockbusters, with films such as Hulk, Spiderman, and X-men. And if it wasn?t for the Artists who sketched and painted  their creations in comic book pages their will be no such action for the big screen. Every Artist has drawn their favourite comic book character, whether hero Spiderman or villain Dr,Doom. since they were kids, who grew up with comics full of action and fantasy. We have now added our own  Modern and Contemporary comic artwork. As more and more movies become Hollywood blockbusters and the budgets and computer graphics and innovative animations become award winning reality, more dramatic and engrossing movies become a way to full fill our daily boredom  grind of work. We want our Art to be instantly recognized or provoke a reaction within the viewer so that they are propelled to react or comment on the Art.

I didn't know Yoda could draw...

And if it wasn?t for the Artists who sketched and painted their creations in comic book pages...

...we'd have no-one to rip off.

Lol,

I swear that cheesy saxophone sounds like it was lifted straight from any one of a hundred cheesy porno movies!

Arhh.. grief. Talentless chancers.

That's really bothered me, shouldn't do, but it has.

Obviously you're not a golfer.

Well for starters it should be reported for copyright infringement. They're potentially going to make money from selling the (really badly done)likeness of a company's character.

It really bugs me when I see this sort of stuff being sold. There's an art gallery not far from my flat that sells paintings that are copies of famous celeb photos and they really piss me off every time I see them.

Eric Plumrose

That artwork is piss poor. Is it a Carlos swipe?
Not sure if pervert or cheesecake expert.

>Is it a Carlos swipe?

it certainly is!

Ya know, I don't really have a problem with this sort of thing.

Sure it's a piece of crap, but is it any different than producing any other piece of Dredd art and flogging it.

Anything from an artist (amature or otherwise) selling sketckes, prints or even full blown painting of Dredd or anyother comic character appears on ebay every day.

Bisley constantly flogs paintings and prints of Batman etc... do you think DC get a cut of that pie. I don't think so.

I'd even go a far to say that fanzines are guilty of the same thing.

What's the difference between producing a Dredd comic stirp, printing it in a fanzine and charging people to buy it compared to some guy producing a piece of shit artwork and trying to flog it on ebay.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of fanzines. Zarjazz and Class of '79 are both excellent. It just happens this 'art' is crap.

The worst thing about it is it's just bad art.

W. R. Logan

>The worst thing about it is it's just bad art

If people want to buy really bad art then I have no problem with that, my problem is when its a direct copy of someone elses work. Draw a bad Dredd and sell it, but don't copy it [badly] and rip off the original artist.

Buddy

That's a good point Logan, but many artists make a career from copying other peoples art (cough! warhol, cough!) so where do you draw the line?

Why not call it a reproduction? And the style it has been reproduced in (a triptic I think it's called) is a legitimate display format.

The problem remains is that it's just bad art.

I mailled to ask who the artist was - specifically, was it Carlos?

Are you for real? Do you really think he would sale on ebay and at this silly price? The Artwork is good and painted by proffesstional Artist- you ither like it or you dont?

Lovely attitude.

Bhuna

I've just posted a general question asking if all of the items he is selling is not breach of copyright. Hopefully ebay will take them off.
