I loved MACH 1 when I was a kid. I'm glad that this exists.

The Adventurer

Greysuit was promised as a 'modern MACH1', and failed to deliver IMO. I was so disappointed. Somebody give John Probe another chance!

Greysuit was billed as a more realistic version of MACH-1, i.e. what would really happen if a super-hyper-powered person punched someone in the face, and how such an agent might actually be created and used.  Unfortunately it quickly degenerated from David-Bourne-punching-people's-jaws-right-off to Carry On Spying, with a dash of the old Jimmy Savile for good luck. I ended up quite enjoying the cheerful insanity of the concluding chapters, but they were so far removed from what I had understood the original premise to be that it may as well been a different strip by then. Dear old Smithereens me arse.

So yeah, bring back MACH-1.  Or better yet, Manix!  One of the better uses of the Eagle photostory format, IMHO.

Good review, BCB, cheers!
