Week... eerrrr is anyone keeping count anymore? (well yes I am its 5) and you know what if I said Week 4 was a step up in quality, well I'd suggest this week is even better. See what you reckon...
Well we've had a Tax Consultant, why not an Accountant - makes sense to me. Add to that an early 2000ad invasion of Earth by... well Goblin type things as I recall. Cool robots, naff aliens, does Colony Earth off much else?
Which most rattles your thrill-receptors:
Colony Earth - more info (http://www.2000ad.org/?zone=thrill&page=profiles&choice=COLONY)
Vs.
Numbercruncher - more info (http://www.2000ad.org/?zone=thrill&page=profiles&choice=NUMBER)
Just reply in this thread naming your favourite thrill of these two series at the beginning of your post (or use Bold tags so I can spot it easily) and say what you like about these wonderful stories after that.
Match ends early on the morning of Sunday 28th November and the winner gets a place in Round 2 (of 9!!!).

Numbercruncher
Colony Earth is at the same level as Death Planet and Angel.
So Numbercruncher it is.

You mean to say that Watson's art is so easily dismissible? :-(

And also that should say 'offer', not off... me and my bloody typos! Anyway yeah that's a fair point, though while Jim Watson's art is great to look at I felt it looked a little of a time against the other art in the Prog at the time. Put yeah the art is quite something.
Colony Earth.
Numbercruncher by a country mile. Got the HC!
numbercruncher
Is Numbercruncher creator-owned or Rebellion-owned ?
Creator-owned. The HC was put out by Titan.
Got no love for Colony Earth, even the art isn't my thing - it's overall just not very 2000ADish, barring the title.
I was trying to picture one of the small aliens in the latest epsiode of Scarlet Traces - was it one of the goblins from this very story?
Anyway, Numbercruncher is REALLY good. Easy vote.
Ah I used to love Colony Earth when I was a kid. Feel kinda bad voting against something I've never read, but: Colony Earth
Colony Earth feels to me like it's from a slightly earlier era than 2000ad. Not terrible just not exactly fully thrill-powered. Numbercruncher is a lot of fun.
Numbercruncher
An easy one! Numbercruncher was ace!
Colony earth
Numbercruncher.
Cheers
Colony Earth did feel a bit like pre-2K Annual fodder squeezed into the prog. Numbercruncher is the superior beast in this match up.
colony earth
Bastard Zane for the win.
I'm a sucker for a 'B' comic and I dont remember Numbercruncher to much, So Colony is it.
Final reminder to vote on this one. Get them in today and I'll count up in the morning.
VOTING CLOSED
Another pretty clear one, though with plenty opf votes for both thrills. Numbercruncher is a wonderful, fresh thrill - all be one that's a bonecrunching 10 years old (gulp), while Colony Earth did feel dated even back in 1978. It all adds up to
Numbercruncher
hitting the 2nd Round.
Jaysus Colin, you're churning these out!
I've missed a few, but would have voted Numbercruncher here too.

Well we've got a chuff load to get through.
2 a days, 4 days a week. Like badly typed clockwork.
