just to let you know - that slash film news isn't isn't accurate.

That's great Jock!  Is there anything you can tell us without getting yourself into trouble - like whether Grant & Wagner have any kind of input?

Although what ELSE would "Joe" be short for?  I'd always assumed it was Joseph.

Why does Joe have to be short for anything?  He could just be Joe.

Anyway, I reckon that with Colin & I we've got a definite TWO WHOLE VOTES so far, who else wants to chip in?

I'd spend my galactic groats on it!

I knew you'd say that.

I'll be the judge of that.

A couple of trailers are up and running. Toby sounds good doing Dredd + others.

Great to hear more of Toby as Dredd, although in "Blood will Tell" he states his name for the record as "Jospeh Dredd".  "Joseph" isn't canonical, is it?  It's just another thing spoiled by the Stallone film, I think.  It's only ever been Joe, right?

I don't mind James Swallow's work (really enjoyed his Rogue Trooper novel), but for example, Jonathan Clements, who can be relied on to be extremely thorough, has Dredd give an oath in "Pre-emptive Revenge" beginning "I, Judge Joe Dredd...."

The Cliff R. covers look excellent, much better than the placeholder covers we saw previously.  I don't even mind the use of the current Dredd logo though would prefer the ol' faithful "stony" type.

My brother was the 2000AD collector, but our practice was to read each others comics after we'd read our own.  We used to occasionally revisit the prog pile for a big re-read; I can remember the good old Ron Smith cover above was tattered and ripped.  After several years he hit gold when he managed to buy a whole run of back issues from prog 1 onwards from the local secondhand bookshop - for 5 cents each.  I remember for one birthday I bought him the original Judge Dredd game (for C64).

I went to Uni away from home, so fell out of the habit of reading 2000AD.  When I returned home between semesters, there were lots of things to do other than catch up on back progs.  About the only 2000AD thing I did for a long time was catch up with my brother to watch the Stallone movie.

Many years later I was out shopping and came across the Dredd vs Death game & bought it on the spot.  I mostly enjoyed it (though not all the zombies), and it led me to the Big Finish audios.  I bought a couple of those to try, then a few more, then eventually the lot.  I picked up some of the graphic novels, then a few more (and more and more).  I bought a couple of big lots of progs from different places, and a kind member of this forum even gave me a couple of big boxes of his spares.  I now have a couple of shelves of GNs, some of the 2000AD figures, a mug, the Termight Replicas Dredd badge and a few other cool bits besides.

My collection is now a lot better than my brothers.  His wife made him keep them somewhere silly (laundry?  garage?) and they got flooded.  He didn't know anything about it until later, after she'd thrown most of them out.

Mean time, I now have a five year old son and I'm looking forward to when he's old enough to start reading the early progs!

Site's looking very good, also simple to use and quick.

Apologies but can't help lamenting the lack of online back issue ordering. I'm missing progs 1639 and 1640 and I know I could make a phone call- but if I knew I could just make a few clicks I'd have got them ages ago. I'm sure newcomers would also use it to to do a bit of catching up.

And also we overseas readers in different time zones.  If I want to call the number I have to stay up until 2am or some such silly time.  It's just too  inconvenient.

(I used to LOVE that game!)
I was sort of wondering that if THIS wasn't the kind of place someone would get that reference, then NOWHERE would be.

Make that two someones...just think of me as "Another visitor..." ;)

The Rogue Trooper computer game does have some additional background information, but you have to un-lock it via achievements to read it.
... a fair bit of which appears in the "Making of Rogue Trooper" book, though in the rehashing it misses the opportunity to add anything new, e.g. a legend for all the different Nort icons shown on the maps at the start of each level.

Great work guys, but I hope the Shop site is on your To Do list.  It's old and clunky and the revamped homepage only serves to highlight how basic it looks - especially the way extra tabs have been jammed in at the top every time new merchandise becomes available.

Also the on-line back-issue ordering is still under construction.  I now realise that the placeholder that says it is being worked on by a "crack team of web-bots" actual translates as "robots on crack" - they're certainly not doing working on anything in that area!  And to think Julian told me "We're just sorting out the encryption at the moment so it should be sorted soon" back in December!
